What a joke! The Catholic Church in St. Pete makes the Scientologists look good.

I hope she has a video will, with multiple copies distributed to every relative she's got.

Florida's Bishop Lynch is a disgrace. I continue to believe he purposely did what he could to hasten Terri Schaivo's death because the other side in that case had something on him. Lynch is diabolical or he is being black-mailed or both.

The priest who performed this "marriage" should be deeply ashamed. As for Michael Schiavo, his punishment awaits.

Do you suppose Jodi is smart enough to wonder what will happen to her if her "husband" gets tired of her?

Someone who is a practicing Catholic please explain how a married man cohabitating with a single woman and having children by her gets his marriage consecrated by the Catholic Church.

Michael is free to marry, but did Jodi get an annulment?

Not all Florida Bishops failed to condemn Michael's actions. But the inaction of Bishop Lynch is inexcusable. Plus I can see no justification for allowing a church marriage for this man. Unless he confessed I would have to assume he is in a state of mortal sin. I did not think you could have a church wedding if you were in such a state.

I continue to harbor a sneaking suspicion that Scientologists played a role in this whole thing. The primary venue was Clearwater, Florida, which is heavily infested by Scientology.

The Catholic Church in St Petes is probably dominated by Scientologists.

I don't see how that marriage is valid, with children already produced by their cohabitation. To validly confect the sacrament, the bride's choice of a husband, or no husband, must be free. In this case, she has children by this man, and those children need support. Hence she is making the decision under duress.

In many cases, a man who marries the mother of his born or unborn child is not considered to be choosing freely either, especially if he is under overwhelming pressure to "do the right thing."

What I'm saying is that either of these parties could be considered to have a case for an annulment of the marriage, either now or later.

Let's hope Mr. Schiavo doesn't try to nullify the marriage through the method he employed in the recent past.

Isn't there a part in the interview or paperwork that asks if you knew the person while still married to a previous spouse? I forget what the term is, but there is term describing it, and the priest is supposed to investigate or question further in this situation.

Hunh. On Saturday January 21, St. Pete Times says they got a license on Friday with an undisclosed wedding date. Big secret.

http://www.sptimes.com/2006/01/21/Tampabay/Storm_over__Schiavo_t.shtml

Then on Monday LifeSite says the marriage happened on Saturday. And they know which church. And nothing in the MSM. Hunh.

**Re-Married in Catholic Church**

Huh? Hope he went to Confession!

I thought, however that he was a member of the Scientology sect.

Well, now that they're married, can a divorce be far behind?

Wait--I forgot--Michael doesn't believe in divorce; he prefers murder as the way to unload a wife.

Jodi--run for your life!
