I hope she has a video will, with multiple copies distributed to every relative she's got.
Do you suppose Jodi is smart enough to wonder what will happen to her if her "husband" gets tired of her?
Someone who is a practicing Catholic please explain how a married man cohabitating with a single woman and having children by her gets his marriage consecrated by the Catholic Church.
Michael is free to marry, but did Jodi get an annulment?
As a practicing Catholic this is a horrible abuse.
Not all Florida Bishops failed to condemn Michael's actions. But the inaction of Bishop Lynch is inexcusable. Plus I can see no justification for allowing a church marriage for this man. Unless he confessed I would have to assume he is in a state of mortal sin. I did not think you could have a church wedding if you were in such a state.
GOOD QUESTION,PLEASE SEND ME A ANSWER IF YOU GET ON.
GODBLESS!
Who's to say that he didn't confess? Remember, Catholics confess in private.
It's a simple answer: Widowers are free to remarry.
Can't explain it. The onus is on Jodi because presumably, she's the Catholic. Michael is a Lutheran, I think.
I wonder if they said that part, "If there is anyone here who knows a reason why, these two..."?
I continue to harbor a sneaking suspicion that Scientologists played a role in this whole thing. The primary venue was Clearwater, Florida, which is heavily infested by Scientology.
Technically the confession and penance aren't even necessary to be married so long as he isn't already married.
The Catholic Church in St Petes is probably dominated by Scientologists.
He's not a Catholic.
In many cases, a man who marries the mother of his born or unborn child is not considered to be choosing freely either, especially if he is under overwhelming pressure to "do the right thing."
What I'm saying is that either of these parties could be considered to have a case for an annulment of the marriage, either now or later.
Let's hope Mr. Schiavo doesn't try to nullify the marriage through the method he employed in the recent past.
Lynch is very corrupt. He was involved in both a gay sexual harrassment scandal and a financial scandal. Why that man has even been left in charge of a diocese is beyond me.
