Who's going to be the "home" team in the Super Bowl this year?

I bet the Steelers fans will outnumber Hawks fans, at least 10 to 1 in Detroit.

Former Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Rams head coach Chuck Knox was hired in 1983 to guide the Seahawks. Rookie running back Curt Warner led the AFC in rushing that year, producing the first of his four 1,000-yard seasons with the club. Quarterback Dave Krieg became one of the league’s most efficient passers. The Seahawks earned their first trip to the playoffs in 1983, defeating their first two opponents before losing to the Los Angeles Raiders (now Oakland Raiders) in the AFC Championship Game.

Knox’s Seahawks collected a club-record 12 victories in 1984 but lost in the second round of the playoffs. In 1986 Largent set an NFL record by catching a pass in his 128th consecutive game, and a year later he broke the record for most career receptions, surpassing Charlie Joiner, who had totaled 750. The Seahawks won their first division crown in 1988. The team struggled defensively, however, and lost in the first round of the playoffs.

Largent retired in 1989 as the most prolific wide receiver in professional football history. He became only the second receiver, after Don Hutson, to own career records in yards (13,089), receptions (819), and touchdowns (100) all at the same time. (Jerry Rice now holds all three records.)

I just heard Dave Brown passed away,

Great Seahawk too. Sadly, he had a heart attack just before Christmas. Was an assistant coach at Texas Tech or something. Wife and young kids left behind......

Anytime a team gets this far, you gotta give them credit. But from all the hoopla I kept hearing about I thought they'd play a better game.

In this case, I really think home field helped set the tempo early on, and all year, Seattle has been a momentum team.

Possibly. I know this Seahawk fan will not be going to Detroit. Had in been in sunny, warm LA or Texas, that might have been a different story.

That catch by Seneca Wallace really fired up the Seahawks.

I'm happy for the younger generation of Pittsburghers who have never experienced winning a Super Bowl. May we get "one for the thumb", even tho' all our Steelers who wore those four rings are long retired.

I don't know how they determine that. Will Seattle get to because they have a better record?

Ironically, Brown played his first year in Pittsburgh, before the Seahawks picked him up in the expansion draft in 76.

I certainly hope so. I'm a Seattle resident and I'm truly horrified and embarrassed at the lousy sportsmanship exhibited by the Seahawk fans. But what would you expect from a bunch of liberal thugs?

I loved the Steelers' game, watched every second of it on tv, cheering my favorite team on. I won't even watch the Seahawks. I hate them.

Go Steelers!

With the Cards in town, we get one less game on TV each week because only 20,000 idiots show up for their games.

And when they are away, we have to watch them play!

I wouldn't wish that on a prisoner.
