Will post story ASAP
FNC showed pictures of young Children forming a chain\shield around the Nuke Faciity.
Well said. But you forgot to mention "ignorant"
If they get away with deterring strikes because of antics like this, then they will always do it. If they get hit anyway they will realize it's not working and the hundreds of families in Iran who lose their children will be privy to the reality that the Iranian government used their kids as Ginnie pigs.
This merits added emphasis.
IMHO the Israelis will strive to give the diplomatic process every chance to work, but not so long as to allow the Iranians the opportunity to stall until they have a working device that is mission capable of striking their territory. They may be coordinating with NATO all possible strike scenarios and lending MOSSAD intel as well. This is possible the most clear and present danger to the very survival of Israel since the 1960's. I also don't think that if the war option becomes the only viable solution, that we will allow Israel to act. I think the US and NATO will shoulder the burden, hopefully using some of Israel's tactical neutrons. Israel has nonaggression treaties with most of the other arab states, but I'm not sure how well those will hold in the face of aggression against Iran even if couched in the terms of pre-emptive self defense. The rest of the arab states know the dangers posed by a nuclear Iran and will, I think (hope) voice their outrage to our attack with a wink and a nod.
Remember, we've shared our nuclear bunker-buster technology with Israel. That would let us keep our hands relatively clean while still seeing our ends met.
They're obviously worried about it. Someone needs to assassinate that crazy president of Iran.
Do you remember the ending to Tom Clancy's The Sum of All Fears (the book, not the movie)?
That's been said before, every time Israel defended herself.
If you want to get technical, there's been a slow-motion WWIII in the Mideast for over 50 years, and Israel is holding it's own against some pretty bad odds.
The youth of Iran are the most pro-American group of people in the entire Middle East. They are not the enemy. These children are hostages.
By the same token, we can't allow ourselves to be held hostage by ploys such as this. But the young people of Iran are not the enemy here.
More civilized than whom?
Could it be that the children were placed in the areas where the most sensitive sites are NOT LOCATED. Sort of like a slick trick to try and fool us or Israel. They also know that an attack is NO WHERE NEAR IMMINENT.(Unless they are incredibly paranoid) So it smacks of trickery and/or a publicity stunt.
Thanks for saying it. It makes me proud of my country.
Tactical nuclear weapons would ensure the site wouldn't be a future problem for about 50 years.
I'm new to the thread so forgive if this has already been mentioned.......does anyone really believe that it's a legitimate nuclear site?
Why bomb them with the intent not to break and smash things?
PING
The difference between this ploy and this ploy used by Saddam is....what, exactly? It didn't work with Saddam and it won't work for the mullahs. They know that. This stunt isn't tactical, it's been created BY the media FOR the media to broadcast for Western consumption so Cindy can make a play for 15 more minutes next week. The mullahs watch CNN too.
They don't know, any more than Cindy does, that the majority of people in coalition countries WANT to see them in a million pieces.
How do you get those pictures?
More CIVILIZED than the mullahs !!
Sorry I didn't realized it may have double meaning ;o)
Our Leftists have shown the world how to hate America, but most people throughout the world really know that our military shows the world how to love each other and be peaceful. Even the crazy Iranian leader knows that Americans value live- and not just American life either.
Our good guys will figure out a way around this-dont you worry. :]
