At least one person was killed and two were wounded in a large explosion in Gaza City on Sunday afternoon, Palestinian witnesses said.
Ambulances were rushing to the scene.
Dr. Moaiya Hassanain, a Palestinian hospital official, identified the dead man as a Mohammed Abdel-Al, 22, of Gaza City.
The victim was said to be a member of the Palestinian Resistance Committees.
The IDF denied any involvement.
The military did not rule out the possibility that it was a work accident, and that a bomb in the car had exploded prematurely.
Tawfiq Abu Khoussa, spokesman for the Palestinian Interior Ministry, said an investigation was under way.
The army did confirm, however, firing missiles at three armed Palestinians spotted approaching the security fence south of the Karni crossing in northern Gaza.
The IDF identified hitting one of the men, and his condition was unclear.
With AP.
See post #33 explains the usage of "work accident". I learn something everyday.
PDS - Premature Detonation Syndrome.
Yes, and if that's the case then things may get really interesting, as I said in one of my previous posts.
I wonder if the international election observers are following these events carefully, or if they are so sure that their international staus will protect them, that they don't really care about small incidents like this.
That could be a very big mistake!
"firing missiles at three armed Palestinians.......The IDF identified hitting one of the men, and his condition was unclear"
Hit by a missile?...condition unclear? Getting hit by a missle would definitely rearrange your bitmap, making you really out of focus and very unclear.
Hmmm...maybe some depleted-uranium tipped Viagra would help with that?
I can't believe the JP used that expression myself, but I sure am lovin' it!
"Premature Jihadulation" or "Explosive Jihadosis".
Fedayeen flatulence..
THE NERVE!
I AM SHOCKED!!
To think, that those b@$+@rd Israeli's would actually ATTACK and kill their fighters. What ever happened to Marquis of Queensbury rules?
I mean, WHAT is this world coming to when terrorists are attacked wantonly before they can explode themselves!
