At least one person was killed and two were wounded in a large explosion in Gaza City on Sunday afternoon, Palestinian witnesses said.
Ambulances were rushing to the scene.
Dr. Moaiya Hassanain, a Palestinian hospital official, identified the dead man as a Mohammed Abdel-Al, 22, of Gaza City.
The victim was said to be a member of the Palestinian Resistance Committees.
The IDF denied any involvement.
The military did not rule out the possibility that it was a work accident, and that a bomb in the car had exploded prematurely.
Tawfiq Abu Khoussa, spokesman for the Palestinian Interior Ministry, said an investigation was under way.
The army did confirm, however, firing missiles at three armed Palestinians spotted approaching the security fence south of the Karni crossing in northern Gaza.
The IDF identified hitting one of the men, and his condition was unclear.
With AP.
"Work accident?"
I figured someone else caught that phrase? Unbelievable, sounds just like liberal-speak.
Just to clarify my own post unclear post #18:
The IAF denies shooting the terrorist, but if the witnesses are to believed (doubtful, but anyway) then someone else did, probably one of the other terror groups. Then the fun and games may start just in time for the elections.
Meanwhile this headline from Haaretz: "IAF missile strike in Gaza City kills one, wounds six". That leftish rag... (although I would have considered it yet another point for the good guys if it had been the IAF).
Whenever the sources are Palestinian, I pretty much discount everything that's said.
Bad jihadi! No virgins for you!
From the above article
Now here's how you use a border fence ---->>>

If hit with a missile, I'd say his condition was "soup."
It's too late for a do-over. I assume this is a "work accident" since the IDF is never shy about taking credit for its own work.
The message here is - "Don't even think of touching our damn fence". Word will circulate in Palestinian areas that a pissed off porcupine will shot it's quills at you

At least one man has been killed and two wounded in an explosion east of Gaza City.
The Palestinian Popular Resistance Committees accused Israel of trying to kill its fighters in a strike on their car on Sunday.
The Israeli army said it carried out an air strike on three armed men several metres from a fence near the Karni border crossing in northern Gaza, believing that they were trying to penetrate the fence. They army said it hit one fighter.
Palestinian witnesses said there was a small crater and what looked like pieces of a missile near the car. They said Israeli helicopters were hovering over the area - near to where the
army acknowledged opening fire.
Retaliation vowed
The Palestinian Popular Resistance Committees said its fighters had been travelling in the car but escaped the explosion.
A spokesman for the group said a bystander was killed. Dr Moaiya Hassanain, a Palestinian hospital official, identified the dead man as a Mohammed Abdel-Al, 22, of Gaza City.
The Popular Resistance Committees vowed retaliation.
"The Popular Resistance Committee has the right to respond to the crime of assassination," said Abu Yousef, a spokesman for the group.
This isn't political correctness run amok or anything like that. "Work accident" is the sardonic description that Israelis use when Palestinian bomb makers blow themselves up prematurely. The implication, I guess, is that Palestinians don't do any other kind of work besides bombings.
Moreover, the Israelis have become very skilled in using radio and microwave devices to set Palestinian bombs off deliberately. They patrol the Pali areas in vehicles modified for this purpose, occasionally blowing would-be suicide bombers or even entire bomb factories to kingdom come.
Of course this arouses great fury among the seething Palestinian masses, but the Israelis shrug and say "Who, us? Nope. Musta been a 'work acident', heh heh" and then they all have a good snicker at the expense of the stupid Palestinian cockroaches.

"62 grains of copper jacketed tungsten. Take three and call me in the next life."
I was just going to comment on that too! That phrase just jumped off the page at me! Unfreakingbelievable!
My first thought was a work accident.
But given the missile story and the pieces of missile that were picked up, my second thought is a factional dispute brought on by the Palestinian elections.
No, "work accident" is just a joke to describe the frequent incidents where Pali bomb makers blow themselves up. Happens all the time. And it's about the only kind of work they do.
Palestinian on the job training accident!
