On Friday the 13th, the Pinkos had an unlucky night. We had a great turnout of FReepers from the DC Chapter and beyond. It was a warm night thanks to the global warming caused by our SUVs. We were able to deploy the MOAB, Mother-of-all-Banners. This was FReep #39 as FReepers have countered the anti-troop hate group Code Pink at their weekly obscene anti-war blood dance outside Walter Reed Army Medical Center for 10 months now. We had a patriot from Michigan extend her trip to DC in order to stand with us. We were likewise honored to be joined by two patriots who spend their time helping soldiers on a regular basis. The Father of Joshua Sparling honored us by attending. Finally, we deeply appreciated being joined by the proud father and mother of a Marine, who is currently serving in Iraq.
As mentioned last week and continuing to the present, Code Pink has been stunned into virtual web silence about the vigil since mid-Nov. Unless they suddenly produce a slew of reports, Code Pink has published only one report (about Dec. 2) since their Nov. 18 report as you can see on their website: http://www.codepink4peace.org/article.php?list=type&type=81 (copy and paste the address at left into your browser to get there). This has followed a series of humiliating defeats inflicted upon them by the peaceful and lawful actions of FReepers, combined with their usual self-inflicted embarrassments. Code Pink is truly stuck in a quagmire as FReepers severely hinder the Pinkos' cynical attempts to manipulate severely wounded soldiers and relatives in hopes of finding those who will join the anti-war movement and break faith with the troops still fighting a ruthless enemy. Code Pink seems to be phasing out most of their participation in the protest and turning it over to other groups as the number of Code Pink women has diminished considerably.
We are winning our psych-op against the Pinkos and hindering their heartless psych-op against our war-wounded troops. Please join us this Friday, Jan. 20, at 6:30 pm per details below. Please also bump this thread to keep it on top. Stand up against the Pinkos who've endorsed "the Iraqi resistance" (as they call our enemy, see here and here), given money to the other side in Fallujah, and called our troops "killers." Then, the Pinkos demonstrate at the hospital and pretend that they support our troops.
This Friday should be an especially enjoyable FReep as a special surprise has been arranged. This surprise will cheer patriots everywhere and dash the spirits of the bitter dead-enders of the hate-America Pinkos.
Lifting the spirits of our war-wounded heroes is what we aim to do. If you live in the area, please join us. If you really can't join us due to work, family, or medical reasons or you don't live in the area, you can help in other ways by contacting Coop, Landry Fan, or PleaDeal by FReepmail for ideas.
The honor roll of those in attendance (lurkers are marked with an asterisk*):
Albion Wilde, Alex, Apple Blossom, beandog, Bill* from MD, bmwcyle, COBOL2Java, Dustin10thMountain, George* of DC, Jack Deth, Jean* from Michigan, Jim*, Joan*, John* and Mary* from VA, Justanobody, Kristinn, Landry Fan, Lauren*, Lizzie*, Mike Sparling* (Joshuas Dad), PleaDeal, Ryan*, Son of TGSL, tgslTakoma, Tom the Redhunter, trooprally [Mr. & Mrs.], and BillF.
We had pizza, coffee, hot chocolate, and various snacks on site.
The event was so large that I can only present that part of the story that I saw. If you were there, please describe your own experiences at the FReep. Also, let me know if I publish your photo without your name or, worse, I mislabel you in a photo.

The key is this: photos taken by bmwcyle begin with "Dbmw," photos taken by PleaDeal begin with "Dplea," photos taken by tgslTakoma begin with "Dtgsl," and photos of mine begin with "DSCN." I have cropped some of the photos of others.]

Opposed to our 29 patriots, the Pinkos were unable to rally even 20 America-hating traitors and their well-meaning, but incredibly-misguided, dupes. The dupes do not realize that their Pinko organizers, who claim to support our troops, called our troops "killers", endorse "the Iraqi resistance" (those killing and wounding our troops, see here and here), and have given money to "the other side" in Fallujah.

(After the Pinkos stole our sign the week before, they denied all knowledge of the sign until confronted by a police officer and video tape showing their theft. The Pinkos were told by the police officer "Okay, cough up the sign. If you don't, this is going to get serious." Only then did they give back the sign that had been placed in Bruce Wolf's car. What does the Lying, Thieving, Whining Weasel write? "Yes, they got their sign back, all they had to do was ask." No, Lying Weasel, a police officer had to compel you to return the stolen property.)
This a collage, made by PleaDeal to illustrate the pavement chalk around the Pinkos.
This week someone put chalk messages to the Pinkos as shown in the photo collage above.
Note also the Lying Weasel just to the right of the pink arrow pointing to Chief DC Pinko Gael Murphy.
At the beginning of the FReep, there was a funny incident. I can't tell it any better so I'll quote the story from tgslTakoma:
I went over to the NW corner of Ga/Elder - (because the PinkOs didn't have anybody on that corner - because they didn't have enough people in their group to "spread out") so I could take some photos of our people. I took no signs or flags with me, just me and my camera on tripod.
I had been taking photos for two light cycles, then PleaDeal crossed over to take photos too. She also had nothing but her camera.
We both took photos, not really saying anything to one another.
I saw two grrrrllls walk down the sidewalk behind us, and observed them to go to the PinkOs stack of signs; so I deduced that they were with them. Then I went back to photo-taking.
As I was shooting pictures, a car slowed to turn into Walter Reed, and a guy yelled out of his window, "Go Home! Nobody [paraphrase] wants you here!"
At that PleaDeal yelled to them, "We're on your side!"
I stopped taking photos at that point, and watched PleaDeal cross the street (as the light had just changed). I heard a noise behind me and looked around to see Weasel, and I said, "Oh, it's Weasel".
Weasel said, "Hello there," at the same time I was noticing the two grrrllls from earlier who had taken a position on the edge of the curb, north of me by approximately 8 feet, and they were holding PinkO signs. I realized then that is why the guys yelled "at us."
Weasel asked me what I was doing on this side of the street, and I answered that I was taking pictures. I also said to him, "It must be really disturbing to you all to know that nobody likes you and people driving by yell at you to go away, that they don't want you here.
Amazingly, Weasel said, "Nobody yells at us to go away." But he realized immediately that that very thing had just happened, and that I was there to hear it firsthand.
So he right away said, "Well, other than that car."
I laughed out loud at his comment, and said nobody wants you here.
He then said something about us always calling the cops on them.
I said we only call the cops when they break the law.
He said, "We don't break the law."
I said, "You're a bunch of lying thieves."
He said they didn't steal anything.
I said, "You stole a sign and locked it in one of your cars. You're thieves."
He said, "You got it back, didn't you? You shouldn't be tying signs to federal government property."
I was amazed by this idiot's thought processes... for months now, they've been hanging their signs on that same fence, but only now he thinks it's wrong... when we do it?!
At that point, the light had changed, so I bid him a fond farewell, calling out to him as I crossed the street, "You're a bunch of lying thieves!"

Unfortunately, the Halliburton satellite microphones did not pick up the below conversation, so I just have to guess. You're invited to insert your own captions, your better guesses, as DC Chief Pink Gael Murphy on the right talks with the Pink Hat Pinko. Rearrange the order, and use less than all of them at your option, to match your story line. Best submission wins my personal invite to join us at the FReep.

A highlight of evening usually occurs after the Pinkos are mostly gone. The bus of wounded heroes returns from a free meal at Fran O'Brien's, a fancy DC restaurant. The bus driver usually turns on the interior light in the bus and there are mutual cheers and waves went between the troops and the patriots. On this night, the bus came from a different direction and the driver did not turn on the light. FReepers still cheered.
Let's help our wounded heroes maintain a positive attitude. We absolutely must keep the pressure on Code Pink and keep showing the wounded troops at Walter Reed that Code Pink doesn't speak for the nation. If you live in the DC area and haven't yet come out for one of these FReeps, please do so this next Friday. Injured Walter Reed patients, including amputees, and their families have repeatedly told us how important it is for us to be there to counter Code Pink and their ugly anti-troops agenda.
If we can sufficiently outnumber the leftists often enough, embarrassment may cause the leftists to stop these outrageous morale-damaging ("Maimed for a lie" was one of their commonly-used signs) demonstrations at the hospital. If some are immune to embarrassment, and, at the very least, we can hinder their psychological warfare operation against the wounded troops. What about you? Can you spare a few hours on a Friday night?
Can you give up next Friday night at the movies to support troops who've given up limbs for your freedoms? Will you?
This FReep is rewarding, fun, and important for our troops and our nation.
We shall continue FReeping the Code Pinkos every Friday night until they stop their obscene blood dance outside the hospital of our war-wounded. If you agree with me that it is outrageous for Code Pinkos to protest a war at a hospital with war-wounded troops inside, please come out and join us in a peaceful counter-protest.
One of the amputees told me months ago that he doesn't want other wounded troops coming into Walter Reed and seeing only the Code Pinkos at the gates. He explained that the FReeper presence there was extremely important to counter the Pinkos. Please join us and be a part of our peaceful counter-protest to Code Pink.
Please don't let the troops think that regular Americans are too busy with TV, ballgames, movies and other recreation to peacefully counter America-hating leftists.
Being there with us in spirit is great, but we need people to hold the MOAB (Mother of all banners), other signs, and flags. Maybe you can't come every week, but please make it your patriotic duty to join us at least once in the near future.
As always, the DC Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect.
Briefly, they are: No violence. No profanity. No racism. No provocations. Obey the law. Treat all law enforcement officers with respect.
Walter Reed Army Medical Center, 7200 Georgia Ave., at Elder St., NW
Code Pinkos have been setting up on the southwest corner of the Georgia Ave/Elder St intersection. We've been setting up on the northeast corner across the street from Walter Reed's entrance gate. Now, their permit purportedly covers both corners on the west side of the street.
On street parking is usually easy to find. Location is about 6 or 7 blocks from Takoma metro station and is walkable, but it is best if you get a ride. If you want a ride, FReepmail me, preferably with your cell phone number as far in advance as possible. If you wait until Friday afternoon, I may be away from the computer.
FReepmail me to get on or off the list.
Injured Walter Reed patients, including amputees, have repeatedly told us how important it is for us to be there to counter Code Pink.
If we can sufficiently outnumber the leftists often enough, embarrassment may cause some leftists to stop these outrageous morale-damaging ("Maimed for a lie" was one of their signs) demonstrations at the hospital. At the very least, we can peacefully and lawfully minimize the effect of their psych-ops against the troops.
Our troops are bold enough to face bullets, mortars, IEDs, and suicide bombers. Are you bold enough to get out from behind the keyboard, FReep in person, and stand up for the wounded troops at Walter Reed?
If you're in the DC area and don't have family, work or medical considerations that keep you from FReeping, can you spare a few hours on a Friday night? Will you?
I'm not John Kerry, and I'm reporting for duty! [crappy sailor salute]
Can I get there via Metro? I live "out in the sticks" in Central VA and don't know my way around the big city very well. I can find the Orange Line station at Vienna, though.
I'm in south Virginia and would normally be able to make it. However I have some field exercises coming up and cannot be away in such a manner this weekend.
You have my support though, and a request to keep me posted. Im only a few hours away.
Thanks for your work!

A little far to get there from ATL, so long distance kudos to you.
BTTT!
I'll be back later and give ya a few music bumps!! Thanks Bill!

You all are terrific for doing this. Thank you so much.
Go to the website (click here) to plan the trip.
If above map fails to load in the reply, click here.
When you get off Metro, walk towards Elder Street in upper left of map. The FReep is a few blocks further west of Elder and 7th shown on the map.

Jean and I had fun listening to Pinko Comrade Bruce, and trying to guess which 60's era protest song he would sing next. One thing we did notice is that, no matter which song he played, PCB only seems to know three chords on his guitar! :-)
Two Pinkos at the lamp post. Please do your magic.
Thank you. I may not make it tonight but I will definitely make an effort to get there next Friday.

HEROES WITH BULLDOZERS
By RALPH PETERS
http://www.nypost.com/postopinion/opedcolumnists/59279.htm
Unfortunately the New York Post requires a registration, but this one is worth it. What I have snipped out are examples of the heroic actions that are NOT making it into old media.
January 20, 2006 -- AMERICA's soldiers are al ways good for a surprise: The enthusiasm the Army's combat engineers show for our mission in Iraq would dumbfound even our military's most fervent supporters.
Privileged to speak with officers and NCOs from the Army's Maneuver Support Center in Missouri last week, I came away proud to have worn the same uniform as those men and women. Every one of them had served in Iraq or Afghanistan. Now they were briefly back home, working hard to incorporate combat lessons-learned into doctrine and training the young soldiers they'll lead during their next Mideast tours.
All that nonsense about a "broken Army"? What I heard was the conviction that we're not only doing the right thing in Iraq, but doing it far better than the media tell the American people.
Along with those combat engineers, the audience consisted of infantry, military police and chemical corps leaders veterans all. Not one was discouraged by the political tempests blowing in Washington (where the hot air is a prime cause of global warming). The best word for what our soldiers displayed is zeal.
---snip---
* Even during an occupation, the Army has to train for its full range of missions. At a division commander's request, our engineers built a tank-gunnery range with 64 miles of protective berms to keep the main-gun rounds from going astray. One example among many all in a day's work for the bulldozer boys.
* That day's work includes some of the most dangerous missions in Iraq defusing IEDs. The equipment and techniques have gotten better, but it remains a nerve-wracking challenge. Combat engineers volunteer to do it.
* As in the Army's better-known units, our combat engineers see impressive re-enlistment rates. Soldiers sign up knowing they'll be sent back to Iraq. Tough as it is, they love what they do. As one command sergeant major put it, "This is what they signed up for, this is what it's all about."
Of course, no list of this sort can begin to capture the courage of these soldiers. They have families they love and the prospect of long lives in the greatest country on earth. Yet, they continue to risk death or mutilation because they will not quit on America or Iraq in the middle of a war.
At a time when we're bombarded with so much doom-and-gloom nonsense from those who'd like to abandon the world to terrorists, it's a shame we don't hear more about the men and women who stay in uniform, who do our nation's toughest work and receive so little credit from the know-it-alls safe at home.
Harvard and Yale? Keep 'em. The finest Americans are those who have gone through the School of the Soldier. A "broken military"? Nope. Anyway, if it was broken, the combat engineers would fix it. Under fire.
Pink Hat: Gael, someone told me that Soros is giving Code Pink hundreds of thousands of dollars but we aren't seeing any of that money"
Gael: Hmmmm.......
Pink Hat: The freepers even go out for pizza but we don't get anything. There is never any money. Where is the money going?
Gael: Hmmmm.......
Pink Hat: Have you heard where they money is going?
Gael: Hmmmmm......Look at those freepers. Pitiful band. I could fit all of them in my new Excursion.
as soon as it warms up i can get a bunh of people to ride in from jersey. we like taking rides and as long as theres a place to park the bikes we will be more then happy to come. thanks for all you do. our pictures and letters are still going out to the soldiers on the list.
Tonight, temps are supposed to be around 50 with 7 mph wind.
Next week, could be 30 degrees with wind chills of around 20 degrees for all we know.
If you can't make it tonight, that's OK. I'm just warning that this could be a great chance to do it before brutal cold returns.
