I flunked freshman English at CSU because I was a Viet Nam vet as she was a liberal. I got my grade lowered in a Western American Literature class because I did not recognize that one cowboy was homosexual and that was in the 70's.

..." I was a Viet Nam vet as she was a liberal"

When I got back I didn't let them know (It was a hopeless cause, and still is. Our universities are very sick. There was more free speech in the military, no question). One benefit - The draft was still in effect at the time. Most professors would end the term by stating that the men could give themselves whatever grade they needed to keep their deferment (Just put your name and the grade needed on a piece of paper in their mailbox.) Sure helped my GPA. As the guy in the cell phone commericial says, "Just my way of sticking it to the man!"

Wow. That is sickening.

My freshman year 'Critical Thinking and Writing', I made the (bleeding heart) prof get watery eyes b/c of my views on poverty. (The situation we were discussing was a poor single mother with two kids from when she was young and a previous drug addiction).

After hearing the usual crap that people are poor from a 'run of bad luck' and its 'society's fault'. I debated that with her and won. She lost it though when I suggested it would be best for the hypothetical woman to put her children in temporary foster care until she was established with a steady job and could afford to take care of them. That was before I even became political, what she was saying is simply stupid and didn't make sense.

Even after making a bleeding heart, young female prof cry, I did fine in the class.
