Mrs. Bush should sue for slander if this is true. She wouldn't win, but it sure would be interesting.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) Mayor Ray Nagin suggested that recent destruction from hurricanes Katrina, Rita and other natural disasters is a sign that "God is mad at America," and also mad at black communities for tearing themselves apart with violence and divisive politics.
"Surely God is mad at America. He sent us hurricane after hurricane after hurricane, and it's destroyed and put stress on this country," Nagin said as he and other city leaders commemorated Martin Luther King Day. "Surely he doesn't approve of us being in Iraq under false pretenses. But surely he is upset at black America also. We're not taking care of ourselves."
Joking that he may appear to have "post-Katrina stress disorder," Nagin, who is black, talked of an imaginary conversation with the late civil rights leader. They "talked," he said, while he was thinking Monday about what to say at the ceremony outside City Hall to kick off a walking parade in King's honor.

Good advice for Hissy.
I can't find those words on the net that chrissy spit put in the First Lady's mouth either. Your right, the outright fabrications by the media, creeps like CM needs to stop. We're all sick of it. What gets me even angrier is that the 'real' nonsense that people like Nagin, Hellary et al say, gets less 'exposure' or is softened by the 'fabrications' from the evil Media.
If anybody watched this show, I might care. Crissy ignores the real issue of Nagin's remarks and tries to smear the greatest first lady since Barbara Bush.
I saw this last naight and could believe what Mathews was doing. I read her quotes before watching his show, and I was like "what the hell is he talking about?" It would be funy if she said something in public about him slandering her and demanding that he give a retraction and an apology.
Here's the text of my e-mail to Matthews:
"Chris,
Why are you putting words in the First Lady's mouth? She never said that "God wants New Orleans to be rebuilt".
Mayor Ray Nagin said it. When asked about the comment, Mrs. Bush joked that she didn't really think she could speak for God. Then she added that she believes Nagin wants New Orleans to be rebuilt.
"He wants people who lived in New Orleans to come back," Mrs. Bush said. "I do too, and I know the president does to. You know it's going to take a long time."
Why are you trying to lump Mrs. Bush in with nuts like Robertson? Oh wait, I know why - you hate President Bush, and you can't hide your venom.
Your anti-Bush bias is stunning. "
I'm not going to hold my breath for a reply nor a retraction on Chris's part.
Nagin also said the hurricane that devastated New Orleans was God's way of showing displeasure about U.S. involvement in Iraq. "Surely God is mad at America," Nagin said in a speech Monday. "Surely He's not approving of us being in Iraq under false pretense. But surely He's upset at black America also. We're not taking care of ourselves."

I searched all last night and then this morning. It's just not there -- and you know if she had said that, somebody ELSE would have quoted it.
BUMP!
Fatboy Matthews is an overweight liberal who probably has his nails done weekly. He's a wuss. Ignore the lard heads.
Did he mention anything about "Nestle Nagin?"
I can't find it either. But, I get numerous hits of her criticizing Hillary's "plantation" remarks, and Ray "Schoolbus" Nagin being an a-hole about foreign policy.
There's a good reason why bloggers "in their pajamas" have a bigger impact on the news with those who follow closely, than do "journalists" like Matthews or Rather. It's because the "journalists" are either careless in how they characterize what others say and do (the most generous interpretation of what Matthews did), or, when they are careful, they are often swayed anyway by their inherent left-wing bias (the more likely interpretation). Either way, these "journalists" have lost the right to be trusted on anything by anyone with half a brain. I feel a lot more confident at this point getting my information from FR, Drudge, and all the pajama people out there.
grrr sorry for the typos.. :P
I take it back. I DO care. Cris should get down on his knees and apologise to Laura Bush. No, I am not being sarcastic, this is the First Lady and this is a filthy lie.
Nagin is...like...so yesterday.
Chris Matthews...is...like so out of the loop.
In all seriousness (and without the silly teenager talk), the democratic party is trying desperately to find something, ANYTHING, to promote their message. Ain't happening and it's getting more desperate by the minute.
He IS ignorant.
Need more proof?

The video link is in #16; it's amazing.
Dan Rather springs to mind. Another BIG LIE was the continued references by many in the MSM that George W. Bush had said (to justify our invasion) that an attack from Iraq was "imminent." Actually, what he did say, in his 2003 State of the Union Address, (link) was: "Some have said we must not act until the threat is imminent. Since when have terrorists and tyrants announced their intentions, politely putting us on notice before they strike? If this threat is permitted to fully and suddenly emerge, all actions, all words, and all recriminations would come too late. Trusting in the sanity and restraint of Saddam Hussein is not a strategy, and it is not an option."
The above is the exact opposite of saying a threat was imminent. He said that we can't afford to wait until the threat becomes imminent.
As a personal matter, I have given up sending my own scathing and informative missives in a vain attempt to persuade liberal friends acquaintances of the truth. I have systematically deleted all the libs from my email contact lists, and have forsaken relationships that go back as far as the third grade, which, in my case, was half a century ago. I have never, ever convinced a liberal to change his position, even when the fact set was totally in my favor. Hey--Rather and Mapes still won't admit that the National Guard documents were forgeries. Ignoring liberals, rather than fighting with them, was the best move I ever made.
