Members of the Victory detachment of the Rapid Equipping Force-Iraq, try Stay Alert chewing gum Jan. 13. Each piece of the gum contains 100 mg of caffeine, which is about the amount found in a six-ounce cup of coffee.

Even as a non smoker I miss the old C-rations, that little four pack of cigarettes could be used for trading and every now and again I smoked one myself just to to myself "Things are good."

Sometimes the best feeling in the world is getting a cigarette lit in a driving rain as the water dripped off your PC.

I found the simple act of chewing gum keeps me more alert on long drives, with the addition of caffiene it should "git 'er done".

I would just mix up the instant coffee and the chiclets from the MRE.

As I recall, Army coffee was thick enough to chew.

Next on the list for some moronic house democrat looking for something other than real work to do. Ensure that this gum is banned from school and kids.

Any idea if this is going to hit the general market?

Methinks this would be a hot sell--especially among college students...
