Apparently even Chris Matthews has his limits when it comes to swallowing Dem BS. The proof came tonight, when Matthews clearly wasn't buying Al Sharpton's transparently lame defense of Hillary Clinton's allegation, at an MLK Day event, that "the House of Representatives has been run like a plantation, and you know what I'm talking about."
Sharpton's theater of the absurd reached its apotheosis when he claimed that Hillary "did not make the comments at a Harlem church". Even the New york Times had to admit that she had spoken in "at the Canaan Baptist Church of Christ in Harlem," and Hardball rolled footage of her speaking at a lectern in the church draped with fabric decorated with a cross.
Responded Matthews, not even attempting to suppress an amused look: "You're kidding me, Reverend. I don't understand why you're defending her. Do you think she would have used that word with a Jewish group, an Italian group? She used that phrase, 'you know what I'm talking about.' What's that supposed to mean? She was pandering."
For what it's worth, in the following segment, MSNBC reporter Norah O'Donnell, who had spoken with people in the Hillary camp, gave conflicting indications on the fall-out. On the one hand, O'Donnell said that Hillary is not going to "walk away" from her plantation statement. On the other hand, Norah said Hillary will have to "clean-up" her remarks.
He misstated the reason for Hillary's comments.
LOL.......... I think I saw that on Ole Crusty.
Sean is so sanctimonious. I know he means well, but he has to improve his skills.
BTW, Montel Williams was on Dayside this morning and he was really ticked off at the comment... he said he found that comment on MLK B'day was an insult to blacks everywhere.
There was no question; she just walked up there and started blabbing.
I hate it that Rush has been on vacation all week.. he is missing a lot of really good material.
There has to be a very good reason why she refuses interviews with even the likes of Alan Colmes who would bow down and wash her feet.
Good for him. With the "plantation -- you know what I mean" remarks, Hillary became a little more transparent to some folks who had never noticed it before. That is a good thing. Keep talking Shrillary.
Are you suprised... she never shaved her arms and legs or washed her hair until it was in strings until Bill's handlers told him her appearance was a detriment to his political career.
Ok .. thanks
I heard him on Sean's radio show -- the man is an a$$... always has been and always will be and I don't know why they even have him on..
correction from my earlier post: "plantation, and you know what I'm talking about" remarks
BTTT
Anyone seen or heard from Howie lately? I'm thinking they locked him in a padded room finally.
Well, yes, no question...and the good news is that a much higher percentage of under-30 African Americans are voted GOP (as are younger Jews) than the dyed-in-the-wool 50+ y/os.
Sean always thinks, by contrast, a guest like that makes him look like "the wise one". --- NOT! Unfortunately, Sean sounded like the impudent fool today on the radio.

Look at this from the dems. perspective. We had a throw away election with Bob Dole. We knew it and they knew it. They HAD to know algore was going to be a throw away because of clinton. Next comes kerry. They knew that would be a throw away also because of 9/11. Enter hillary for '08. Another throw away. She's going to give Broken Glass Republicans an adrenaline rush that we haven't had since clinton's impeachment. Dems. must know this. And they must know they screwed up royally and like never before when they let clinton remain in office. But they can't rid themselves of that name yet. And they can't call her in for a backroom meeting with *the man*. Hell, she IS *the man*. They are basically throwing away 3 presidential elections. And the one that is most important is coming up. And look who's looking to lead them. They're in a world of hurt. Self-inflicted, of course.
