Young Soldier Blasts Rep. Murtha at Town Hall Meeting
Post Chronicle ^ | 01.17.06 | Jim Kouri

During a Town Hall meeting earlier this week Democrat Congressmen John Murtha (PA) and Jim Moran (VA) touted their call for a withdrawal from Iraq, an unexpected turn of events occurred.

Moran and Murtha continued the anti-war diatribes which included their relating talks they've had with military officers and rank-and-file troops in Iraq. Murtha has said the military is broken, morale within the ranks is poor, we need to pullout immediately, and other defeatist rantings.

Murtha had just finished his presentation during the Virginia townhall meeting, in which he added that he feared a slow withdrawal may give people the impression the US achieved victory (God forbid Americans think we're victorious), when he opened the meeting for a question and answer session.

At that point a man stood and spoke:

"Yes sir my name is Mark Seavey and I just want to thank you for coming up here. Until about a month ago I was Sergeant Mark Seavey infantry squad leader, I returned from Afghanistan. My question to you, (applause)

"Like yourself I dropped out of college two years ago to volunteer to go to Afghanistan, and I went and I came back. If I didn't have a herniated disk now I would volunteer to go to Iraq in a second with my troops, three of which have already volunteered to go to Iraq. I keep hearing you say how you talk to the troops and the troops are demoralized, and I really resent that characterization. (applause) The morale of the troops that I talk to is phenomenal, which is why my troops are volunteering to go back, despite the hardships they had to endure in Afghanistan.

Don't miss the video - its absolutely priceless!!

Link is at bottom of article.

The soldier is a marksman, took aim, squeezed off two rounds, and put a virtual shot right thru Murtha's and Moran' foreheads. Damn - but it is sweet to watch!

Fred Barnes showed the video at the end of "The Beltway Boys" last Saturday.

John Murtha Won’t Join the Military

Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.) has declined to re-enlist in the Marines.

Murtha asserted that an Army career was incompatible with his career goals. “While the Army or Marines might be a good choice for some, it is not for me anymore,” said Murtha.

Murtha says he aspires to be a “nattering nabob” instead. “Ever since Vice-President Agnew spoke about ‘nattering nabobs’ I knew I wanted to be one,” said Murtha. “A nabob is a person of great wealth or prominence. Who wouldn’t want to be one? If I can get there by nattering I’d be damned happy.”

Murtha’s strategy is to speak out as often as possible while keeping the content simple and repetitive. “I think I’ve shown considerable skill at nattering in my job at congress,” Murtha boasted. “My prominence has already received a giant boost. There are nearly 2 million mentions of me on the web now.”

Murtha, who spent over 30 years in the Marines when he was younger, admitted he is too “blobby” and obnoxious to make the grade as a Marine today.

Actually Seavey did pose a question to Moran/Murtha. It was "...just WHO have you two been talking to?"

His question was more or less indirect. Seavey actually said "I don't know who you two have been talking to." Clearly the question was as stated above, at least in the mind of anyone who was there or who saw the video. Unfortunately many congressmen need not have facts unless their constituents hold them to the truth by challenging them.

OMG! What a superb hero...among the slime of the Left. I noticed the stunned frozen glares on the old fartfaces...

Officer Mark Seavey - when can I vote for you? You need to run for office and kick out the scumballs in your district.

Here's something in the form of a question for Mr. Murtha: "How much did it cost them?"

"How much did it cost al Qaeda to buy the honor and loyalty of a United States Marine officer?"

If you're going to be part of a herd it's better to be in the front than in the rear.

Yep, that was the most telling statement they could have made.

"If you're going to be part of a herd it's better to be in the front than in the rear."

The view is a lot better with scenic sights in front versus the south end of a north bound human or critter.
