In a further clarification of yesterdays remarks that a rebuilt New Orleans would be a chocolate city, Mayor Ray Nagin today said hes planning to recruit Hershey Foods to establish a candy manufacturing plant in the hurricane-ravaged region.
The Democrat mayors latest clarification builds on yesterdays explanation that his remarks are not racist because chocolate is made with dark chocolate and white milk forming a delicious drink.
Were in the very, very early stages of discussions with Hershey, Mr. Nagin said, Its still in the pre-meeting, pre-phone call stage. But thats what this chocolate city concept is all about.
Its literally chocolate, rather than chocolate as a metaphor for something else. Its edible chocolate. It really is.
The mayor said hes long been intrigued by the possibility of transitioning New Orleans economy from one reliant upon fickle fads in human debauchery to something more stable, like chocolate.
Ever since I saw the movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Ive thought, Thats New Orleans, Mayor Nagin said. and I thought, Im Willy Wonka.
Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, who yesterday told a group of African-Americans that Republicans have run the House of Representatives like a plantation, said she would help Mayor Nagin secure federal funding to turn the Louisiana Gulf coast into a chocolate version of Silicon Valley.
You have reminded me of a Halloween party many years ago where a couple I know came dressed as candy bars. She was a Mounds Bar, he was an Almond Joy.
You'll shoot your eye out!
I hope this link is good.
A friend and I took his daughters to Hershey Park in Pennsylvania for their 13th birthdays back in the early 90's. It was cold and rainy so we ducked into a restaurant for some hot chocolate.
We're at HERSHEY park, mind... I looked at the cocoa packet, and it was NESTLE chocolate. Unbelievable.

ROFMAO!
"It's time for all of us good folk to stand up and say, `We're tired of the violence. We're tired of black folks killing each other,'" Nagin said.

It's not color. It's life's purpose and all coming together for the comon good.
Nagin seems hung up on skin color as a determinate factor for what's acceptable for his NO plantation vision. Are white people's genetic value and existance only acceptable as it serves his racist idea for the 'chocolate' mix?
What's next, maybe he'll desinate drinking fountains for only white's.
Is there a movie in this? Mayor Ray and the Chocolate Factory?
What is this?

ROFLMAO
Hegemony Cricket....what a great freeper name.
That is awesome.
I hear Hubig's Pies, the praline makers and the Roman Candy guy have filed for an injunction.
It seems to me that he doesn't need any of our white tax money.
Garwsh - THANKS! :-)
They already built one in San Francisco.

Ray Nagin: Uh, yeah- we're asking Hershey for help! Yeah, that's what I meant!
Hershey spokesman: Ray who?
Maybe David Duke will say something about the use of vanilla and crackers in the rebuilding of NO.
In related news, Vanilla Ice's career is still dead.
