U.S. HELICOPTER SHOT DOWN NORTH OF BAGHDAD -- WITNESSES
Thanks for the ping. No use worrying at the moment. I'll be checking in tomorrow.
You need to calm down. You are becoming that which you hate.......
See HAL's profile page....
we need to start taking a more aggressive approach to how we fight this war. It isn't Bosnia, when are we going to learn our lesson that the only thing these people understand is brute force?
Maybe YOU need to back off.
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - A U.S. helicopter was shot down north of Baghdad on Monday, witnesses said. They said they saw a rocket hit the helicopter in an area where the small town of Mishahda is situated.
There was no immediate word on the fate of the crew, and the U.S. military said it was checking the incident.
One witness said U.S. troops surrounded the crash site and that smoke was rising from the area.
Another member of the nukem all crowd!
Really? I don't think so. Your context is?
That was too easy.
{blowing on hands} My work is done.
Now run along and play. The grown-ups have loftier concerns now.
That is all you have to offer?
Thanks-GREAT LINK PAGE!!!
I pray all of the time for our troops..no matter who they are...but, I will say an extra prayer for your daughter...and for you.
Do you mind if I borrow your Calico cat photo at the bottom to replace those old boring "bunny with a pancake on its head" images?
Cheers!
Thank you!!!
Why are you on Allegra's case?
If the terrorist have heat seekers, or the updated Russian version of the stinger, we are in some trouble. We do need to start looking at another way to fight this war, its clearly obvious these terrorist/thugs still have freedom of movement.
Bomb blast and gunfire rocks central Baghdad
A bomb exploded near a convoy of civilian vehicles in Baghdad on Monday, triggering a shoot-out between Iraqi police and insurgents, but nobody was hurt in the violence, a police officer said.
The explosion was the first in the city centre after a week-long Muslim holiday lull.
Four four-wheel drive cars frequently used by foreign security contractors and diplomats to move around Baghdad were targeted in the attack, the police officer on the scene told AFP, speaking on condition of anonymity.
It was not immediately clear who had been travelling in the convoy, which appeared to have been escorted by two overhead helicopters.
"After the explosion, insurgents in a nearby building started shooting at the convoy," the police officer said.
"Iraqi police returned fire. We then stormed the building but were unable to find any of the culprits."
The bomb only caused minimal damage to one of the vehicles in the convoy, the officer said.
Earlier an interior ministry official said US and Iraqi forces had been involved in the shooting spree. A US military spokesman said he was looking into the report of the explosion.
In other violence, a policeman was killed in the north of the capital and one civilian and another policemen were wounded in a roadside bomb explosion in the west of Baghdad.
On Sunday, police found the bodies of seven unidentified men shot dead in the capital.
How about some compassion and understanding? not lectures.
And for you, Paulat, what happened to your New Year's resolution?
If the terrorist have heat seekers, or the updated Russian version of the stinger, we are in some trouble. We do need to start looking at another way to fight this war, its clearly obvious these terrorist/thugs still have freedom of movement..... to add on to that, when are we going to start treating this like a war and not a "conflict" I am not a member of the nuke em all crowd, but I would like to see the b-52's put to good use over some of those western province villages such as ramadi. Carpet bombing has a very intense and real effect on terrorist and the people who harbor them in their homes.
