I don't know who "Allegra" is, but it seems to me that when someone has a loved on in Iraq, the last thing they need is some know-it-all who deems it necessary to shoot down their every suggestion and give them lectures. I find it interesting that someone who is not active military should think that they know what is SOP.\\

How about some compassion and understanding? not lectures.

And for you, Paulat, what happened to your New Year's resolution?

I don't know who "Allegra" is...

Allegra has been on the ground over there just coming up two years, longer than most combat units. She interacts with the troops daily and more than a few of us here in the states get concerned when she doesn't check in to FR. I'd cut her some slack. We're all concerned with those in harm's way.

Well maybe before you put your mind/mouth to a keyboard you should THINK and do a little background research on who you are posting to...

Just a suggestion- by some bigger underwear to loosen the load on your brain.

Allegra has been over in Bagdad for a while and has a better grip on the in Country situation than you do.

Well, I do, old sport. She has been over there for two years doing a great job for the US. I think she may have a little better idea what is going on than armchair generals safe at their computer terminals...

I think this entire forum needs to take a timeout.

First off, no matter who vehemently we may scream about tactics and all that crap, let's remember that we have PROFESSIONALS over in Iraq, at this time. THEY KNOW how to handle this situation.

Secondly, Allegra and I crossed paths, in Iraq, before I even found FR. we didn't know it at the time, but we were in the same chow hall and PX many times at Camp Victory.

Third and final, there are some on this forum, (none of whom I am replying to here I HOPE) that don't think we are winning the war in IRaq. I guess these certain individuals have forgotten who they are and are now listening to the MSM. Let me tell you, things over there now are 1000000% better now than they were when I got there in January of 04. I am sure Indy's daughter would say the same. Let the pros do their jobs.

Let this administration do it's job. But I have the topper here. THIS administration, unlike the previous one (Bubba), allows the generals in the field do their jobs. The administration (meaning Rummy) gives them the objective, but they allow the Generals and the field command take care of what needs to be done to get the job done.

Losing helicopters always sucks. Losing troops always is a downer (big time) but we are facing a highly determined and practically fanatical enemy. FOR the last time, 99% of it ISN'T Iraqi.

/Rant
