THERE IS ONE good thing about anti-Semitism: It lets you know who the bad guys are. Right, left, black, white, freak or straight, the minute someone starts rattling on about the evil Jews, you know your train just pulled into Slimeball Station.
All bigotry is wrong, of course, but there's something about this particular form of prejudice that's weirdly reliable as a sign of deeper wickedness. Perhaps it's because the Jews contributed so much to humanity's moral code that to hate them as a race is to despise the restraints of morality itself
Whatever the reason, true, virulent anti-Semitism is such a good indicator of the presence of evil that I'm tempted to believe that when God made the Jews his chosen people, this is what he chose them for: to be a sort of Villainy Early Detection System for everyone else.
Unfortunately, in his infinite love for his creation, I suspect the Big Guy may have overestimated our intelligence. Maybe he thought that after Hitler we'd just, you know, like, get it. Instead, we still see apparently intelligent people appeasing, making excuses for and even embracing the sorts of stinkers who ought to set off the Big Alarm.
That's why I think the system could use more bells and whistles a loud honking noise perhaps, or closed captioning for the morally impaired. Thus, when Iranian President Ahmadinejad says the Holocaust is a "myth" or Israel "must be wiped off the map," you would hear a loud honk and words would appear in the air below his face: "Hello. I am an evil madman. Please stop negotiating with me now and proceed to cripple my nuclear capability by any means necessary."

Well yeah they suffer, and will keep suffering until the Islamonutcases among them are gone.

The Koran quoting presbytery forced out the moderate senior pastor and the executive pastor in a messy, non-presbyterian fashion, resulting in a significant decline in attendance and giving.
I presume that you think I know nothing of the Talmud. That would be in error.
BTW, in your post #76, you wrote, "Right on. The "Christians" who support the idea that the Jews are "God's Chosen" are idiots who know nothing of their own religion."
Is that right. Well, no sense in conversing with you any further after that. And to see that you're from my beloved home State... Oh, boy.
This is a ch__ch. What's missing?

Food for thought, nourishment for the soul.
I think I'll stick with His Wisdom... ;o)
Good choice, Karen. :-)
For finding fault with them, behold, the days come, saith the Lord when I will make a new covenant with the House of Israel and the House of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers, in the day when I took them by the end out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord. [Hebrews 8:6-7, 9-10]
Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a nation producing the fruits of it. And when the chief priests and Pharisees heard his parables, they perceived that he spoke of them. [Matthew 21:43-45]Those those who believe in Christ and the New Testament, cannot deny that the so-called covenant has been taken away from the Jews.
Of course, you could always ask the good pastor why the oil rich Arabs brethren don't take care of their suffering Palestinian cousins.
You know, the importance of alms and such.
Ask him why the Palestinians still live in the same refugee camps they were in 1948.
Ask them why they are so poor after years of Western support of the Palis.
Ask him what Arafat did with all the money.
Oh yeah,by all means, ask him.
Likewise, if Christians and other non-Jews are NOT God's chosen people, why do they still exist?
Jesus Christ made it possible for salvation for Jews as well as anyone else, but there was no longer any special relationship for the people who rejected God and his Son. A new covenant was established between God and all who accepted the salvation of Christ.
The Gospels have repeatedly admonished the Jews for their anti-Christian and misanthropic nature. An example follows:
"you have suffered like things of your own countrymen as they did from the Jews, who killed both the Lord Jesus and the prophets, and drove us, and drove us out and displease God, and oppose all men...but God's wrath has come upon them at last. [1 thessalonians 2:14-16]
"This testimony is true. Therefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith, instead of giving heed to Jewish myths or commands of men who reject the truth. [Titus 1:13-14]
Details please?
There are more than twenty Arab countries who own most of the world's oil resources. If they wanted, they could resolve the Palestinian problem so they could live peacefully in a land that shares religion and culture.
In fact, Palestinians used to live in Jordan until they made themselves unwelcome and the King of Jordan kicked them out killing thousands of them in the process. If I remember correctly, Lebanon didn't benefit from their presence either.
I think it is pretty apparent which group is pressing for peace and which party pursues violence - even to the extent of indoctrinating small children and blowing themselves up. Maybe this "religion of peace" has a different definition of peace?
Thanks for the ping!
Pasters aren't worth a dime if they feel they have to praise sucide bombing Jew haters to get along with the evil bast@rds in their church. Why bother?
Pagan.
You must hate G-d, for you spit on the holy word with your comments.
I just read some of the resignation letters at the link you recommended, as well as their readings from the koran... and promotion of homosexuality?
I would say I am stunned - but it's difficult to feel that way anymore, (even if the church is in Hollywood, heh... former L.A. resident, so I know a little about the mess that city is). They are slowly invading and destroying the basis of our beliefs... in every possible place in society they can. Just sick.
Thank you for that link. I (just) finishes reading it - it is long but a WORTHY and fascinating read by Mr Prager. I've saved it, and told my husband to read it as well. It provoked a lot of thought already. I am certain I will read and re-read it.
finishes = finished.
There is no such quote in the Talmud. Period.
I find it strange that in response to an opinion piece expressing the proposition that anti-Semitism is evil and lunatic, vile and raw anti-Semitism is posted on FreeRepublic without a single comment until this.
