The Book of Daniel was aired by NBC on Friday night. Several NBC affiliates did not carry the program including those in Beaumont, TX; Tupelo, MS; Meridian, MS, Little Rock, AR; and Terre Haute, IN. In addition, NBC lost several million dollars when advertisers pulled out. NBC ended up selling the time for pennies on the dollar.
WBIR in Knoxville invited ministers in to see the program. Here are some of their comments. Rev. Brian Kearns, minister of Lighthouse Christian Church: I think its very demeaning to Christianity. If this is their view of Christianity, its going to be as a joke. Its an assault on the Christian faith. Rev. Tom Seay, pastor Bearden United Methodist Church: Its just a pretty sorry piece of work. Dale Powers from the Catholic Diocese of Knoxville: Youre portraying something as normal that is just absurd. Rev. John Stuart (no church identified): Christ is at the center of my worship. What the show has done is demean my faith. Youve diminished the person I worship
youve wounded me.
Maybe Hollywood can re-work the show to be about an imam, his dysfunctional family, and his ongoing conversations with a hip laid-back Muhammed. Muslims have a much better sense of humor about religion/sarc.
We're Mad and we're not goin to take it ANYMORE!! Congrats to the grassroots!! Good Riddance SoddomWood!! Imagine they made this about Jews or Moooselips???
Pray for W and Our Victorious Troops
Haven't seen this show. What is the Readers Digest version of what it is/about?
When ya wanna dis and insult a large percent of the population... they're some risks involved.
I have seen trash before, but this was supertrash.
This shows the abyssmal depth of the alienation which exists between the media elite and the people.
They can't make it without the housewife in Indiana and the carpenter in Des Moines and it makes them crazy.

Excellent........
I watched it last night. It sucked, was poorly acted, poorly scripted, pacing was no good and in general felt very wooden.
If they had made Islam the joke I would have tuned in. Of course they might be inclined to cancel the show after a few of the personnel involved got hit with a car bomb.
Please stand your ground on your wonderful new series "The Book of Daniel." With virtually no ratings and no profit, clinging to such worthless projects means you'll lose money even faster than you already are, which in turn will mean that either your stockholders replace the arrogant studio heads who air such tripe, or the company goes bankrupt and we're spared any further incidents.
Do not forsake "Daniel." Please pour millions of dollars into promoting this bomb. And overpay the (soon-to-be-unemployable) cast too.
Thank you.
Heretic!!!!! ;)
Wonder what crap they'll replace it with when the show is cancelled.
The funny thing is that they will probably follow your advice.
You nailed it - network idiots specifically make shows that appeal to the coasts.
Then they would have to have pedophilia, rape, and incest. Probably would be a block buster.
Good! I hope the show is canceled!
Liberals are so screwed up they can't even recognize reality anymore. I have never seen a group of people so determined to completely destroy their ideology because of their ignorant arrogance.
