NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Country singer Tim McGraw says he wants to run for office someday in his adopted home state of Tennessee _ perhaps for governor or U.S. senator _ and he's getting encouragement from a fellow Democrat, former President Clinton.
"I think he's got it," Clinton says of McGraw in an Esquire magazine story that hits newsstands Monday. "The Democrats need candidates whom people can relate to in a personal way, people who understand their lives and their concerns and share their values. And I think that's something Tim can do without even pretending."

Not Surprised!
As a BIG country music fan (I guess thats what happens when a southern rock fan turns 45), I am certain that the media country stars are major libs:
1) Garth Brooks
2) Trisha Yearwood (My favorite singer of all time)
3) Clint Black (love his ballads)
4) The Dixie Chicks (OK I admit it, I still like their music! Shut up and sing!)
So the fact that Tim McGraw is a dem is no shock. ! Gees! So is Willy Nelson! Guaranteed anyone Country who has been on Oprah is a lib. R's have more self respect. But we do have some cool pubie stars
1) Martina McBride (I love you...drool...)
2) Leanne Rimes (same as Martina...)
3) Sarah Evans (Her music wakes me up in the morning!)
4) Toby Keith

Hmmm...I already knew that he was a bastard and a horse thief (or at least a junior horse thief accomplice)...now it turns out he's a Demoncrap too. Not exactly a big leap.

Yeah Tim McGraw. The knucklehead who married a bed hopping gold digger that screwed her way to the top of country music.
Demonstrates real good judgement Timmy.

Wow, a performer admits to being from the 'wrong' party and it's an all out attack. I imagine one could dig up the same history from some performers on the 'right' side.
I could care less what McGraw's political affiliations are. I like his music, and to a lesser extent, I like his wife's music.

For some reason i was under the impression Clint Black was fairly conservative and supported President Bush. Is he really a lib?

Some more for your GOP list:
1) Aaron Tippin
2) Leann Womack
3) Reba
4) George Strait
5) Hank Williams Jr.
6) Brooks & Dunn
7) Darryl Worley
8) Montgomery Gentry
Trick Pony did some gigs for the President during the campaign. Josh Turner looks to be a Conservative Christian sort of guy, too.
I don't really think it's a contest over whose party rules Country Music, though. Except in the media world, of course.

He's tough... not.
Is he a good "cowboy" that happens to wear a hat that's black or is he just a country singer that plays a bad "cowboy?"

Tim, you're balding fast. Quit hiding it under a hat or get some hair plugs or something. Oh, and keep your mouth closed unless you're singing.

He made some comments similar to these last year before the election. He refers to himself as a big old liberal....hates the war, yada...yada...yada....very full of self importance.

I am so sad! But is life growing up sounds as if they had a hard time and more than likely on welfare, so it doesn't surprise me.
What is so upsetting is his feelings towards Mr. Clinton. Which kind of tells me he has no respect for his country, armed forces, and for that fact, not even woman. Because his idol hates our country, and we saw what he did to our armed forces, and we all know what he can do to woman. If you find that "Kingly", then it tells me a lot about him.

The performer is a jerk who assaulted a police officer. I will attack anyone who feels free to assualt the police and then joke about it. Likewise anyone who considers Bill Clinton a great president is an idiot and opens himself up to criticism. I've never heard a single thing McGraw has ever written or performed and judge the man on his merits, not on his abilty to make your heart go a'flutter.

I know, take a look what I posted here, (same article.) ..."like a country song"...
as Rush Limbaugh said, when you play a country song backwards, you get your truck back, you get your woman back, you get your job back...and you sober up. :-)
I thought Clinton's line about "not even having to pretend" was as choice a Freudian slip as I've seen in a long time!
Cheers!

Could you please explain what you were referring to there?

Advice to the good people of Tennessee.
Any man with wife as beautiful as Faith Hill, who lets her hang around with Bill Clinton, is too stupid to be your Dog Catcher much less your Governor.
