OMG! Did you see that look on Leahey's face as Fried was talking? It looked like he didn't have a clue.
Laurence Tribe is like that soap opera lady who always gets mentioned but never gets the award for best TV actress. He must have some serious skeletons.
Leahey was hillarious. He was in shock.
Gawd ... Tribe is up now
"They're one note Charlies because they have NOTHING."
Must be a flat.
Oh boy, Tribe up.
Guess he's just going to be lecturing us. Yes, he is.
What is Tribe trying to say????
Why are they all talking about President Bush when this is a hearing about Alito?
Doesn't Tribe know you're never supposed to assume?
Of course he is. It's another "I don't actually know him but I'm going to tell you about him anyway" witness.
No, just a serious lack of opportunites for nomination. Since 1968 (nearly 40 years), there have only been two Justices appointed by Democrats, and both of those were done under Clinton.
Learn to live with it Larry! Roe v Wade is going down!
EC: Oh, I think it's clear. Sandra Day O'Connor has been the key swing vote in 5-4 decisions upholding reproductive freedom, affirmative action for racial justice, separation of Church and state, limits on executive power, campaign finance laws. In all of these areas, there's reason to believe that Samuel Alito will be a fifth vote to dramatically change the law. And so, if you want to see Roe V. Wade overruled, then let Alito be on the Court. If you want to see an end to affirmative action, let Alito be on the Court. If you want to see an end to separation of Church and state, let Alito be on the Court. If you want a justice that's going to rubber stamp executive power, let Alito be on the Court. But if you reject those ideas, then you've got to filibuster Samuel Alito.
The only arguments the left has are that, if Alito is confirmed, we're going back to back-alley abortions, back of the bus seating for blacks, and a theocracy.........more mildly stated, but the same exact argument used against Bork. (Except that they've added the Bush bashing 'executive power' tripe).
These people are beyond pathetic. They're brain dead.
Are all these bozos going to talk about presidential power?
Newsflash to Dims, THE PRESIDENT ISN'T RUNNING AGAIN.
oh, now we have abortion. Murdering babies is something that all dims agree on.
Tribe even wrapped his "Right to Die" language right up with the pro-abort argument.
That they should not vote with their eyes wide shut. Has to be talking about the dims, who also have their ears wide closed. How else could they be saying the things they have against Judge Alito. Senators don't lie, do they? (g)
Tribe says .. Casey split the baby in half
Killing babies=liberty. Sheesh.
My boss taught me that 35 years ago.
rule number one in litigation - do not ask a question to which you do not know the answer
Leahy failed
