2,000+ in almost three years ain't bad at all considering.....Natural deaths, suicides and accidents HAPPEN in the Military whether there is a WAR or NOT.
The United States Military has had 1736 KIA's since March 2003 in IRAQ.
An astonishing LOW NUMBER by any historical war time standard.

Pretty much what I said. Folks who think history started in 1990 or so have no concept of what the term "heavy losses" really means.

Save your breath, you're posting to C-Bot-95. You probably mentioned Bush had a thread on his jacket and now C-Bot thinks you're the antiChrist.

One of the audience members during Pres. Bush's comments and Q&A in Kentucky the other day stood up and said he didn't have a question, he had a comment, and then he thanked the president for keeping us safe for the past four years. The audience exploded in applause. I know, a friendly audience, but it still shows people recognize that Pres. Bush is committed to our safety even to his own political damage.

The thing I worry about is that the democrats have so damaged their credibility that they no longer provide a healthy opposition.
Just how quickly will our politicians adapt to a situation where they have no credible, loyal opposition to keep them honest?

We've had exactly that situation down here for the past few years. So far, it's allowed our conservative Government to get on with the job it was elected to do. Then again, we do have John Howard as Prime Minister - a more honourable, decent chap would be hard to find.

Some have suggested "Defeatocrats", but I prefer a contraction of that:
"Defecrats".
