Day 4: Hearing Resumes
This morning, Senators will question Judge Alito during a third round. They will then go into a closed session, to review the FBI background investigation on the Supreme Court nominee. Outside witnesses may be called to testify this afternoon, as well as the American Bar Association, to discuss its recommendations.

Speaking of that, there was the MOST vile doctor on Nightline being questioned about performing abortions, and he was so proud and about gleeful at the good he's done .. that it was just a form of birth control, and that adoption makes too many women depressed .. even to the point of suicide, as one of his patients did a couple of years ago. He was in his late 60's, early 70's. Can you imagine such a subhuman and the thousands of precious innocents he's killed?? I've never felt such instant revulsion and loathing for a stranger in my life.
ooooh. Cornyn uses the DEM objection to the testimony of these judges as an indicator that the DEMs have lowered the decorum and honesty of the hearings process.
Thanks.
LMAO.
That was the capstone of his oration, in my opinion.
Sessions is awesome!
:)
one can only wonder what Erwin Chemerinsky will say
and beth nolan
They're just scoring points with their base.
Just called my Senators offices (Snowe and Collins unfortunately) Told both staffers that they ought to vote for Alito and inquired where they currently stood. The staffers said they hadnt made up their minds yet.
As Snowe is up for reelection, I informed her staffer that without her vote for Altio, she (Snowe) could forget mine.
if the witnesses opposed Alito, they'd all be there making "points". But since the battle is all but lost, they need to plan out a final assault, which, by all accounts, will be a fillibuster.
a nice pair of dagos from NJ on the Sup Ct, what a thing, huh? (my hub is one, i can say that as a term of endearment)
My point (and I do have one...) is that an overly cautious judge, who is more process oriented than determined to vindicate the text of the Const, is likely to lose his way in the twisted "precedent" that has accumulated like drain sludge in the past 40 years.
one of the judges said it? yowzer
[cue heads exploding]
Get them prosac, they are gonna need it.
i died laughing when i saw some on this thread call him Senator Cute as a Button, i nearly fell on the floor when i saw that!
What else did you expect from Dims? It's not like this testimony is going to change any of their minds, and the only important thing to them is to show their contempt for the witnesses and the nominee by refusing to sit in and listen.
but you see, that's how THEY 'do business' so they think everybody does
If you look at stills or video coverage from his victory party in 1994 you can see that he's on his last legs.
I'm amazed that cirrhotic, bloviating, manslaughtering POS has been able to stagger on for this length of time.
Over a decade, for goodness sake!
Joe Kennedy must have made some pact with Lucifer back in the good old days when Hitler was riding high.
Too bad none of 'em hung around to hear it...looks to me like cocktail hour has arrived and most of them have bailed out - so much for their "grave concern".
Thanks
But the 'Rats won't have to worry if any of them appeal a case to SCOTUS, because Americans whose forefathers hail from the sunny penisula don't get upset if they are treated badly --- BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Paybacks are a Hillary!
