HOUSTON -- At least three Houston television stations have declined to air ads targeting Republican Rep. Tom DeLay, who is facing trial in Texas on charges of laundering campaign funds. Two liberal groups paid for the 30-second ads, which address alleged links between DeLay and a widespread congressional corruption probe of disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff.
The ads were to start Wednesday and run for one week. But the DeLay campaign sent letters to the stations threatening legal action, saying the spots are deliberately misleading. "The ad is reckless, malicious, and false, casting Mr. DeLay in a false light by accusing him of unsubstantiated criminal conduct," DeLay campaign lawyer Don McGahn wrote the stations. "We demand that you refuse or otherwise cease airing the advertisement."
KHOU-TV, a CBS affiliate, announced on its 5 p.m. broadcast that it was skipping the ads because "not all the claims in the ad could be clearly substantiated from the source material." ABC affiliate KTRK-TV and Fox affiliate KRIV-TV also declined to air the spot, which was paid for by Campaign for America's Future and Public Campaign Action Fund. (#1 George Soros~Shadow Party Anti-DeLay Organizations - fla)
Toby Chaudhuri _ a spokesman for Campaign for America's Future, one of the groups that paid for the ad _ said in a statement that "threatening to sue the media and desperately throwing dust in the eyes of his constituents rather than answering the charges against him won't help Rep. DeLay's defense." (typical Soros criminal enterprise banter - fla)
The ad lists money and travel that DeLay allegedly received from Abramoff, who pleaded guilty this month to corruption charges in connection with congressional wining and dining.DeLay stepped down as House majority leader earlier this month. He had been forced to temporarily relinquish the Republican leadership post after he was indicted in September.
DeLay needs to reduce his public profile in order for the GOP and "Friends" to take on the George Soros~Shadow Party Mob's criminal and fraudulent activities. Same goes for the Democrat's significant fraudulent statements and activity in relation to the Abramoff Group Scandal. We are all sick of the fraudulent activity by these worthless bastards. Even conservative Democrats are sick of Harry Reid's and Nancy Pelosi's fraudulent behavior and banter. It's time to play extreme '06 gorilla hardball against these bastards, and DeLay fired a good salvo at the local Houston TV stations in regards to airing Dems-Soros~Shadow Party criminal and fraudulent ads.
There is a "GOP friendly" group, that is heavily investigating the Jack Abramoff Group (JAG) Scandal. I have two attorney's and two staff from my Miami based law Firm involved in the investigation since 12.15.05. Based on our investigation, the Democrats have significant criminal liability in this scandal, and in the last two weeks, the DOJ investigations have taken significant notice of this fact. Again, we are all sick of the worthless bastards MSM and the Dems-Soros~Shadow Party fraudulently making this Scandal a GOP only issue. While some GOP congressional members, and Republican JAG associates, have significant legal liability in this matter, so do a significant number of Democrats.
The key word is "Group". Jack Abramoff ran a very powerful DC Lobbying Group, from 1994 - 2004, within two top and powerful U.S. law firms being Preston, Gates, Ellis LLP (PGE), and then Greenberg Traurig LLP (GT).
JAG's size and power became very large over the years. Based on our current investigation, Abramoff had 17 Democrat lobbyists-lawyers working for him, with many having significant involvement in this JAG scandal and with DC Dem Congressional members.
About the two Firms JAG worked for: - - The firm of William H. Gates Sr., father of Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, merged with Preston in 1990. The later old line Seattle firm started when Harold Preston relocated to Seattle from Iowa in 1883 and began practicing law. Jim Ellis joined Preston in 1949. Members of JAG were registered lobbyists for Microsoft. During the 90's PGE became a Top 10 lobbying Firm based on lobbying gross revenue. Much of their lobbying success and revenue was due to the success of JAG.
Greenberg Traurig LLP is a relative "new" Firm, founded in 1967 in Miami by Mel Greenberg and two attorneys. Today GT is an international, full-service law firm with 1,500 attorneys and governmental professionals in The Americas, Europe and Asia. The firm is eighth on The National Law Journal's NLJ 250 listing of the largest law firms in the U.S. and ninth among The American Lawyer's Am Law 100, based on number of lawyers. Approximately 60% of the Firm's political PAC, and overall individual US members, political donations goes to Democrats. GT wanted JAG, and money lured them away (anything they wanted per Firm insiders) from PGE in late 2000. One more thing, let's just say I know my way around the GT Miami office quite well.

DeLay can be thankful Mary Mapes and Dan Blather weren't in charge of fact checking at these TV stations.

A member of Generation X, Chaudhuri arrived at college a decade ago disillusioned, doubting politics could make a difference. He studied political science and economics and assisted research later used by U.S. Senators to protect sick and hungry minority children from right-wing budget cuts. As a result, Chaudhuri became involved in local and statewide political campaigns, realizing in his work that he could make a difference. Since then, Chaudhuri has managed nearly $20-million total in state and federal campaigns and has worked at the helm of national media operations. He fought big money's corruptive political influence to enact historical campaign finance reforms directing strategic communications at Common Cause; took on corporate polluters to provide safe drinking water and clean air as a political appointee to President Clinton; and worked to elect several principled state and federal candidates including serving as Deputy Press Secretary to Al Gore's 2000 presidential campaign. Before joining the Campaign for America's Future, Chaudhuri worked hard to protect sick and hungry children as Marian Wright Edelman's spokesman and Childrens Defense Fund National Press Secretary. Chaudhuri also worked hard to promote multicultural civic engagement leading a campaign to turn out tens of thousands of Massachusetts Asian voters in the 2002 midterm election. The program he developed was adapted to engage over 1.5-million South Asian voters across the country for the 2004 elections. |
Cripes, more losers that don't represent our American culture and values system. Who cares what these POS have to say, yet they get 24/7 banter by the MSM.
Hell, when DeLay held his fundraiser in Houston, the first week of December 2005, the big protest that got all the media attention was organized by these maggots:
Progressive Workers Organizing Committee (PWOC)
PWOC is an organization dedicated to the abolition of capitalism in the U.S. and around the world. We're Marxists committed to the development of revolutionary socialism.
PWOC's mission statement is straight out of the first page of George Soros playbook.
Other organizations protesting that night were website admitted Socialists, Communists, Atheists, Homosexuals, and other ultra liberal and radical POS.
DeLay is right, two can play this court game. The GOP must back down the MSM's 24/7 banter of outright fraudulent statesments and activity by the Dems-Soros~Shadow Party Mob. - TAB

Very interesting commentary - thanks
Bump
Kinda sums up the whole democRAT party doesn't it?
Encouraged! Thanks!
Now, Tom DeLay, who is equally hated (and equally innocent), is "taking a bullet" by dropping out of the line---he is praised for it.
Well, which is it? Are we supposed to go balls out on the president, and sacrifice congressional leaders to the lions, or all-or-nothing, or what?
If DeLay wins the primary and thereafter pulls out of the race, will the GOP then have no official candidate in November?
The state has a deadline to make the ballot. If DeLay pulls out before that deadline, the party may name a replacement. After the deadline, DeLay is the GOP candidate.
Of course none of this is true in New Jersey. New Jersey had laws specifying a deadline. Toricelli withdrew after the deadline. But New Jersey courts ruled that the statute had no effect. The Dems named Lautenberg as their candidate.
I doubt Texas would be a repeat of New Jersey, though. Texas has a reputation of respect for the rule of law.
He just screams "Gay".
STRATEGERY BUMP!
Loss of money talks, and the BS walks!
(thanks for the ping!)
DeLay is a fighter, which is more than I can say for some of the other Republicans that won't stand up for him.
I'm so sorry he has to go through this.
