Concerned Women for America (CWA) says that Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Massachusetts) is displaying the depth of his desperation to sink the nomination of Judge Samuel Alito to the Supreme Court by linking him to the alleged discriminatory policies of the Conservative Alumni of Princeton (CAP), an organization that disbanded nearly 20 years ago.
Kennedy will fail to discredit Alito, however, because reasonable people will never believe this good man would discriminate against anybody, said Jan LaRue, CWAs Chief Counsel.
Judge Alito has repeated in two days of questioning, I wasnt a member of CAP, and I dont have any recollection of having any involvement with CAP. He repeatedly said that he would never knowingly involve himself with a discriminatory organization.
Kennedy repeatedly asked Judge Alito whether he had read specific articles about CAP and he said he hadnt, said Jan LaRue. Id like to ask Kennedy if he read his favorite newspaper, The New York Times, when it reported last November that it had examined the records of CAP and theres virtually nothing there to tie Alito to CAP. Kennedy is sinking to a new low trying to defame Alito, distort his record and deceive the public. Its disgusting, LaRue concluded.
The New York Times reported on November 27, 2005: [M]emorandum and other records of Concerned Alumni are contained at the Library of Congress in the papers of William A. Rusher, a leader of the group and a former publisher of National Review. Those records and others at Mudd Library at Princeton give no indication that Judge Alito
was among the groups major donors. He was not an active leader of the group, and two of his classmates who were involved and Mr. Rusher said they did not remember his playing a role.
Sen. Kennedys demand that papers that have already been reviewed be subpoenaed from the Library of Congress is shameless grandstanding, stated Wendy Wright, CWAs Executive Vice President. Kennedy fails to realize that his questioning of Judge Alitos exemplary ethics naturally causes people to reflect upon Kennedys own less-than-stellar ethics.

The myth: Sen. Edward Kennedy '54-'56 was required to withdraw for two years after cheating on a Spanish final. He had paid someone to take the test for him, and spent the exam period hanging out in Elsie's -- where he ran into his TF. The truth: It wasn't Elsie's -- Elsie's didn't exist at the time. And Kennedy didn't pay the other party to take the test for him. And he didn't personally run into the TF. Otherwise, the story is right on. Kennedy did get nailed for cheating. The story is told in Burton Hersh's _The Education of Edward Kennedy_. In the spring of 1951, freshman Teddy Kennedy has a Spanish A final to take. One of his football teammates had a roommate who knew the language very well -- they called him "The Master of Spanish." Someone joked that the Master should take Teddy's exam for him. On a whim, the Master agreed. Unfortunately, the Spanish A exam proctor recognized him. Within minutes of the exam's conclusion, Kennedy got a call from Dean of the College Delmar Leighton's office. He was nailed: Immediate suspension, readmission to be considered after at least one year off. Teddy ended up enlisting in the Army during his time off. After 16 months of service, he returned to Harvard in 1953. From that point on, he trod the straight and narrow, and graduated in 1956 with a B average.
How did he get out of the service after such a short time?

We now see clearly how dangerous are these Demsheviks.
I have no doubt that they would institute a communist type of dictatorship, if given the opportunity, as their predecessors did it in Russia, in 1918 and tried to do it in Germany and Hungary in 1919.
Over a hundred million people died due to communism in the entire world.
We must not allow them to take control of this country, under the cover of the Democrat party.
the modern Democrat party is nothing more than the Bolshevik or Menshevik parties of 1918's Russia.
Hence the term "Demshevik", which I coined, describes them perfectly.

Shumer was particularly scary today. If he had the power he would be another Beria. You could just see that he was relishing his "grand inquisitor" role.

Kennedy and Schumer suspect that Alito is not in favor of murdering babies for any and every reason, thus they attempt to slander him and besmirch his character. It's disgusting, and that is all this is about.

Oh, come on, whenever the computers begin going heavily Republican in Oregon and Washington states, the computers break down, and like whiplash the Demorats recover bigtime.
Can Massachusetts computer counting be any different?

Can Massachusetts computer counting be any different? That's doubtful when it comes to the party of dead and non-existent voters. We almost had this slug beat back in 1994 but like Chappaquiddick he wormed his way of trouble.

Judje Alito should walk into the hearings tomorrow wearing a neck brace. The Swimmer will pop a vein or two.

July 20, 1969 the "Rosemobile" being pulled from the channel (Poucha Pond).
As young and beautiful Mary Jo Kopechne suffocated inside the Delmont 88... Ted, the conscience of the Senate, swam to his own safety.
Ted fled to his posh hotel room, then to sleep, perchance to dream, never bothering to call the local constabulary.
A science teacher and 15 year old boy fishing from the "Dike Bridge" found the car in the morning.

Let me get this clear: Are the drunken, murdering rapist and the known plagiarist suggesting that Judge Alito doesn't have the moral character to be in high office? Or are they saying that the party that doesn't hold the White House and has a minority in the Senate has the power to pick Supreme Court nominees, to make sure the nominees know the Constitution well enough?

could he possibly sink any lower?
Considering his weight, if that accident w/Mary Jo Kopekne were to have happened today, Kennedy would be dead also.

I disagree. He has way too much body fat today. If he were in the car as it went over the bridge and into the river he would even keep the car afloat.
