Al Franken: No Decision on 2008 Senate Run
Al Franken has moved his radio show from New York City to his home state of Minnesota, but he still isn't ready to announce a U.S. Senate run for 2008.
The comedian and host of "The Al Franken Show" on Air America radio, began broadcasting his show from Minneapolis last week. He says he made the move because, "I just always consider myself a Minnesotan."
While Franken acknowledges the new locale might not bring as many guests into the studio, he won't address whether it's a step toward an eventual Senate candidacy. Franken recently told The Associated Press that he hasn't made a decision yet.
"I think I'll be deciding early to middle 2007," he said.
Should he seek an elected office, Franken says his key issues would include developing alternative fuel sources, universal health care and dealing with corruption in Iraq. Franken recently returned from his third USO trip, making stops in Kuwait, Afghanistan and Iraq.
Though many would expect the liberal Franken to favor bringing the troops home, he says that wouldn't be the best move.
"I think we are at a point where we have painted ourselves into a corner," he said. "But I know that pulling out now would be like ... the perfect bad ending to a perfectly badly done war."

Please run.
Oh boy! We're all anxiously awaiting word...
Franken run for the Senate? LOL! I changed my mind. He's actually pretty funny at times.
Run Al, Run!
Please, oh Please run.....
Well, where else would have him really? And if he decides to run, wouldn't he have to give up his Err America position immediately?
He might get a few votes from Minnesota government bow wows and a few more from The Range.
But the Boys' and Girls' Club already has the check written and ready to mail to your campaign fund.
Minnesota deserves a comedian in the Senate, after all, they elected a professional wrestler Governor.

Here's his campaign poster.........

ALFRANKEN
LOL Franken is freakin' ridiculous.
Somewhere on my hard drive, I have a video from the Royal Australian Navy of a TORPEX- and exercise involving the firing of a live torpedo. In the video, we see an old Leander class or something similar being BLOWN CLEAN IN HALF when the MK48 ADCAP goes off under her keel.
For some weird reason- that clip plays through my head when I think of Al ('I'm funny! Really, I am!') Franken running for the Senate. :-)
I would gaurentee St.Louis County would turn red if this jackass ran.
As a Republican in Minnesota, I say...
"Please, please, please, Al! Please come back and run against Norm Coleman!"
Coleman will beat Franken's brains out.
Please, please, pretty please, run.
