Day 3: Questioning Continues
This morning, Round 1 concludes with Senators on the Judiciary Cmte. who did not question nominee Alito yesterday. During Round 2, questioning is limited to 20 minutes for each of the eight- een senators. Chairman Arlen Specter (R-PA) leads off, followed by the others, alternating by party in order of seniority.

I can only imagine what his kids have had to go through also
I think a good poll on FR would be which Senator is the most despicable.
Did I miss something....what new info?
It ran half way into John Gibson's show today if I remember correctly -- which was some time between three and four AZ time today -- know that doesn't help much, but he was late in the afternoon.
Trust me....women love "wheeler dealers" also....so you keep racking up the real estate...you will be so popular, you will be having catfights over you!!!
Congratulations...sounds like you are doing well...and hopefully your new career will allow you to have more time on FR!!!
I can't see that happening but will be crying tears of joy if wrong. I think Ginsberg would have to be dragged out kicking and screaming as long as a Republican is in the Whitehouse.
Janis Rodgers Brown: Keep your calender open.
I thought so, too. He was way to even-handed for Durbin. The only other explanation I have is they decided ahead of time to play bad cop, good cop and everyone had their roll...
It was so very obvious that Alito is a good man with a fine mind and a loving wife. The "crushing hand of fate" one of the Dems (maybe Biden) thought he was so cleverly using to slap Alito around with this morning ended up with it's finger stuck firmly in the eye of that Dem--and the whole Democratic party is now suffering from a well-deserved black eye.
No, they are searching through those Princeton "papers" that have already been reported on in the NYT back in Nov. Kennedy made such a big deal over it, that I figured they were going to try to act as though they'd found really incriminating "evidence" that Alito is everything they've tried to imply in their questioning.
That would be too tough there are too many candidates.
It would be a close call, that's for sure.
I'm sure they will find something in those papers even if it takes an all nighter for their staffs..
I couldn't believe it...but I turned on Anderson 360 for probably the first time ever...just to see how he would report today's activities...
They showed the footage of Lindsay asking Alito if he was a bigot...and then they showed Mrs. Alito leaving, crying...and then they showed Lindsay saying, "I am sorry, about what has happened..."...and said that she came back in "after Lindsay apologized for what he said"....
That is a TOTAL DISTORTION of what happened today!!! TOTALLY! How can CNN get away with that?
Anderson said that?????? I'm actually suprised. He has struck me as the softer side of CNN.
Are you kidding me???
I saw that too, and I was stunned. I was watching TV in bed; immediately got up and sent an email to CNN about this outrage. Told them it only enhances their reputation as liars and propagandists, and that they should fire the reporter immediately, and issue an apology. It was unbelievable. I watched that one segment, sent my email, and switched away from Cooper. CNN LIES!
AP did it also....the media knows how bad it is playing so the are trying to cover the RATS tracks.....except the blogs and talk radio wont allow them to get away with it.
Teddy really stepped in it. You don't call the committee chairman a liar on national TV and then try to bigfoot him out of the way. Not if you want his cooperation. You'd think fatso would have a clue how the Senate works since he's been stumbling around its halls since before I was born.
