Day 3: Questioning Continues
This morning, Round 1 concludes with Senators on the Judiciary Cmte. who did not question nominee Alito yesterday. During Round 2, questioning is limited to 20 minutes for each of the eight- een senators. Chairman Arlen Specter (R-PA) leads off, followed by the others, alternating by party in order of seniority.

LOL! I'm addicted!
Exactly. I have argued for term limits many times, but few seem care. Sigh.
By the way. You probably should consider taking down your tree now. lol!
I think the big news here is that Russ Feingold (after the Mrs. Alito crying incident) stated flat out that he would be voting for Judge Alito both in the committee and on the floor. That's big. Put the rest of his Dem committee members in a bad position, after Feingold praised Alito and said he'd vote for him. Hah. Feingold, I think, did it for one and possibly two reasons. First, he wants to run for President. Second, I think he actually may have a few feelings and responded to Mrs. Alito's being upset. I may be giving him way too much credit for that last point, but he could have reacted to her crying about the Dems smearing her husband's integrity. Makes the Dems look bad, and Feingold doesn't want to be lumped in with the rest of them. Feingold knows the power of visuals, and that most of Middle America will be on Alito and his wife's side, not the Dems.
Sorry, I missed it as well.
Wolfstar, this is off subject, but you were on the AI live thread last season right?
I simply CANNOT wait until next week!
Very moving moments! I also can't believe Lindsay Graham was ready to lose it too.
I'm inclined to agree however I read that CNN's Blitzer made mention of it earlier saying her reaction doesn't bode well for the dems.
really? Feingold has come out for Alito? that is big.

One more time! Can't be said enough.
;-)
Well, I will admit that I have a problem with setting term limits. Voting is supposed to be the answer to that. But it is certainly worth debating and I'm willing to consider all arguments. (But not tonight). My fridge is calling me.
CNN just showed it again ......... in full.
Dim, Dumb, Dumber
You are so right about Scummer! ops sorry for the misspelling(not)!
Taglines are excrutiating to me. I can never think of anything tag-worthy.
Between that news and the bitch slapping Specter gave to the Swimmer, it was a great day.
Viva Alito!
Excellent.
Yes you did get them right :-)
Condi should be McGonagall
Hillary will always be Hildemort
Fudge is wrong for BCJ as he is not sufficiently slimy. Wormtail is better
I also think that Sirius Black is too cool for Delay. Cheney would be better and he's certainly given his pound of flesh
Rummy as Remus, LOL! That fits with the nipping at the ankles of the Vice President. :-)
LOL! Excellent!
