Who is the biggest threat to cause Alito to slip up? Probably an ice storm hitting Washington during the hearings. Dems aren't going to lay a glove on him.

Would Leahy have approved of the strip search, if the warrant had expressly permitted strip searching the children of the alleged perp?Or would Leahy second-guess the judge who approved the warrant?

Alito is the proverbial sea of calm in the center of the storm. Very smooth, very smart, very down to earth.
CONFIRMED!
Next.

How nice of Leakey to assist in bringing up Alito's ROTC membership and support in the face of a hostile college environment to the military.
Hatch is doing a nice job at bringing out this support. All the CAP issue has done is highlight his support for the military at the earliest times.

No kidding that whole exchange was hilarious.
Leaky: Why did you strip search a 10 year old girl
Alito: It was a search warrent to search the premises and anyone on it, the whole argument was a technical one about weather the affidavit was properly filed with the warrent so explain they needed the additional searches.
Leaky: But the courts are there to protect the individual from overreaching government or corperations. I worry you aren't doing that in this case at all. Am I overanalyzing it?
Alito: Yes you are, the cops knew the drug dealer hid drugs on other people in the home, so they asked to search everyone when they got the warrent. I'm not happy they searched the 10yr old girl, I even said that in my decent. This case was weather the cops were liable to be sued. And that wouldn't be possible if there was even the chance that a reasonable officer thought the warrent coverved it.
Leaky: That may be, but who strip searches a 10 year old girl?
Like smacking your head against the wall... only funnier.

Hatch asking Alito about the Vanguard group and ethics.
Too bad Hatch doesn't mention that Ted Kennedy owns a small oil company and got legislation passed which gives tax breaks to small oil companies. Ethics are important for Democrats but not Republicans, I guess.

Hatch is always good in these hearings, he takes democrat innuendo and smacks them in the face with it. .You're so right. Hatch is doing a great job.
