ALITO CONFIRMATION HEARINGS
Questioning Begins Today
Each of the eighteen senators on the Judiciary Cmte. will have 30 minutes to question Supreme Court nominee Samual Alito today during round one. Sen. Arlen Specter, as chairman, will begin, then they will alternate by party in order of individual seniority. Round two starts on Wednesday.

Why does Fienstein think there is a great interest in electronic surveillance, other than that most people think it's about time?

Re Feinstein mentioning what Carter said about FISA, she didn't mention that Carter's Attorney General Griffin Bell emphasized about FISA this:
"...the law does not take away the power of the president under the Constitution."
It might be better if we wait for the transcript anyway. The number may get in the triple digits anyway.
Why doesnt he say "Frankly I cant understand why you liberals lionize abortions and the people that have them"..YOu could hear a pin drop with that one.
Just once, I'd like to hear a nominee reply "Yes, Senator, I agree with you that the case law protects a woman's right to dismember the child in her womb."
That kind of honesty is sorely needed.
