ALITO CONFIRMATION HEARINGS
Questioning Begins Today
Each of the eighteen senators on the Judiciary Cmte. will have 30 minutes to question Supreme Court nominee Samual Alito today during round one. Sen. Arlen Specter, as chairman, will begin, then they will alternate by party in order of individual seniority. Round two starts on Wednesday.
Schadenfreude.
This Senator is actually talking about the fact that Roe wanted the decision reversed. I think this actually occurred a couple or so years ago, but I think the ACLU said it just doesn't matter-we want our way!
I'm simply speechless at DeWine, at the effective way he has addressed Roe V Wade.

I always wonder how they hold it together and come out with normal answers and refrain from grabbing things and throwing them at certain senator's heads.

OK..I understand that..but Alito didn't duck the "stare decicis" question..jhe had an easy way out..but didn't take it..he said there were some circumstances when justiced MUST consider reversing other decisions...and Arlen didn't follow up on it..

Alito should ask them to respect his principles not hide them. The liberal senators have no right to show intolerance towards his beliefs.
He's seen his poll numbers, and Cheney is coming into raise $$$$ for him next month..
Take a deep breathe. The Kohl family no longer owns Kohl's department stores. They haven't for many years.
I don't like it either. But put the blame where it belongs. Nominees are being forced to answer questions that Senators wouldn't have even dreamed of asking before Bork. They wouldn't have to do this 'minuet' if the dims were not misusing their advise and consent role.
