When they leave the room check to see if they are still sporting toilet paper tails. Sanctimonious blind people.
Bump to join later.
Of interest in this battle is the family of Martin Luther King. Many speculate that Martin Luther King, Jr. would have been Pro-Life and fought abortion - an issue the Democrats do not want to confront head on.
The father of Martin Luther King, Jr. (Martin Luther King, Sr.) is opposed to abortion and would side with Alito on that point. There are other members of the Martin Luther King, Jr. family that are Pro-Life, so looking at the confirmation hearings from that perspective might be interesting.
Additionally of interest is that the vote on Alito is now scheduled to take place after January 22, 2006 -- and Monday January 23, 2006 -- the time that the March for Life will take place in Washington, DC.
Last year, about 250,000 Pro-Life people took part in the March for Life. It was countered by an awesome group about of 50 radical pro-abortion demonstrators -- probably 10 had to be paid to attend on the pro-abortion side.
It would be interesting to bring out the Pro-Family and Pro-Life aspects of Alito in the hearings -- a chance for Teddy and company to retain their lock on foot-in-mouth disease.
The propaganda arms (news agencies) of NBC, CBS, ABC, NYT, WP, LAT, Time, etc, are gearing up for their spin on the Alito hearings. They will give a new meaning to TRASH TALK with the new lows these media outlets will achieve in support of the failing Democratic National Party.
Best wishes to Alito.
I won't be able to be here, but for those not planning on watching, I'd recommend watching at least a few Senators to guage their line of attack. As well, catch Alito's first glimpse of a performance.
BUMP!
WASHINGTON - President Bush sent Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito off to his confirmation hearings Monday with best wishes and a demand that senators "give this man a fair vote and an up or down vote." ... he got some last-minute encouragement from the president over breakfast at the White House.
I don't think Alito will get as many confirmation votes as Roberts, but the 'Rat attacks on him just won't score any points except with the moonbat wing of the 'Rat Party. That's not enough to stop the nomination.
Go Alito!
Was that school even accredited back then?
Justice Alito will be approved in a 99-0 decision. Or he will get at least 90 votes.
The RATS found their magic bullet in Abramoff. They are going to give Bush anything he wants and when November rolls around, the RATS will trot out Abramoff with the intention of taking over the house/senate, then force Bush into situations that the RATS can take advantage of in 2008.
I read the RATS playbook. Watch the next few weeks as it will look like the RATS are getting hammered by the MSM. It is a ploy.
Makes you wonder why Bush didn't nominate JRB. ;)
Alito should turn it around on him - what did Chuckie say when Ruth Bader-Meinhof used that same response in HER hearings?
Hmmm?
I doubt it. The same 22 Democrats who voted against Roberts will vote against Alito.
What I heard was that if Sharon passes, the Dems were planning on holding up the hearings...There are also rumors that they will hold up the vote for one week; W wants the vote on 1/20 in time for the State of the Union speech...However, the Supreme Court is in recess till the end of Feb so it really does not matter.
Just because these two leftist clowns are introducing or backing him, doesn't mean they support him. It literally means squat, zilch, zero, nada.
Evan Bayh (D-IN) introduced the Senate to John Roberts, and voted against Roberts.
"I doubt it. The same 22 Democrats who voted against Roberts will vote against Alito."
No they won't. See how many of the 22 are up for reelection. It will be less than 10. Actually it will be 5.
Kennedy
Schumer
Boxer
Kerry
Durbin
Irrelevant. Most voters will have completely forgotten all of the events of today in 10 months.
It will be less than 10. Actually it will be 5.
You seem to put a lot of faith and trust in the Democrats.
When will Mr. Alito himself first speak?
chuckie wasn't in the senate then, D'Amato was.
