Also by blaming him for everything surely they are by inference giving him more power and more control than in actual fact he has.

They kick into touch their own arguments over the wire tapping because they have already blamed him for not doing things which are clearly outside the role of a President if they feel he has power to do something about those issue then the wire tapping for national security reasons must be well within a President's remit.

Or are they that able to think that logically.

It is confounding until you look at the Voters in Ma, and his fellow Democrat Senators. Look at them as a whole or individually and outside of Ben Nelson and Joe Lieberman they do not pass the smell test. They are a "sick party and getting sicker" to quote Bob Grant. It is like looking into a Terrarium loaded with ugly snakes and trying to pick out a decent one that will not strike at you when you turn your back, or close your eyes for a split second. I consider dealing with them similar to dealing with Al Qaeda, only you maybe able to trust Al Qaeda once in a blue moon.

I plan on contacting my senators before McCain returns from Alaska....

Good idea. Cut him off at the pass if at all possible.

You get prime examples of what you are saying on one of the Tom Delay threads yesterday.

They could not grasp as the Majority Leader he sometimes has to negotiate and make agreements to get legislation through that he personally may not agree with the full details of but is better than the alternative.

Maybe they are naive or idealistic but unfortunately in politics you have to be realist even if it means only a percentage of the time do you actually get passed exactly what you want, you simply have to look at what the alternative would have been.

Politics is a careful balance and sometimes saying nothing to achieve the bigger picture further down the road.

Hello, all! Just got home from work, so I missed the thread again. But I do have some interesting news to report-the granolas who I spar with at work were waiting for me with accusations of Republican corruption regarding Abramoff. I was ready. Armed with a paper printed from Free Republic with all the Democrats who took money, I asked them who were the real corrupt politicians. Neither one of them had seen the list, and nor had they heard about Hillarys fine. Both were surprised to find the level of dem involvement. Surprised? I told them to listen to Rush for just one day, and report back. I told them you learn things about people you will never hear from the MSM. Both of them were truly surprised. I doubt they converted, but if today will get them to accept the MSM claims with a grain of salt, then my work will not have been in vain...

McCain/Feingold should be repealed in it's entirety.

Never could figure out why Bush signed it into law - it was clearly in violation of 1st amendment in clear sight for everyone to see? The NRA came out strong against it because their ability to sponsor 2nd amendment Congressional candidates was going to be severely hampered and is one of the reasons they set up a web site with newscasting as well as getting staff press credentials.

Juan does follow talking points at times, but he's a real person and does have a good sense of humor. I was surprised that he argued that there was a culture war, although I think that he had previously argued that there is no war on Christmas. I can see how he might reconcile the two.

I did not see the Delay appearance, but he is very smart and very aware of the Dirty Dims never ending plots to get him, and he has probably covered himself very well. I support him and agree he is doing the right thing, and I am sure he will not lose a keystroke in his quest to nail that jerk Ronnie Earle, and come back stronger than ever. I always go back to the fact that he was not a Lawyer by trade, but an exterminator. Perfect for the vermin and Rats that call themselves Democrats.

Never could figure out why Bush signed it into law -

I love the man, but this was a big mistake. It has been a disaster (except for McCain and anyone else in line for big chuncks of tribal money), and on top of that, and notwithstanding the Supreme Court, I believe it is unconsitutional. Mitch McConnel should have won that case. I'm still chaffing over it.

I could be wrong but I believe Juan knows right from wrong and he's actually a bit conservative. The problem is his logic conflicts with the party line so he will many times just repeat the talking points before he has the oppotunity to think them through to make sure they are logical or make sense. So, he ends up on both sides of a arguement occasionally.
