Saddam's Terror Training Camps What the documents captured from the former Iraqi regime reveal--and why they should all be made public. by Stephen F. Hayes 01/16/2006, Volume 011, Issue 17
THE FORMER IRAQI REGIME OF Saddam Hussein trained thousands of radical Islamic terrorists from the region at camps in Iraq over the four years immediately preceding the U.S. invasion, according to documents and photographs recovered by the U.S. military in postwar Iraq. The existence and character of these documents has been confirmed to THE WEEKLY STANDARD by eleven U.S. government officials.
The secret training took place primarily at three camps--in Samarra, Ramadi, and Salman Pak--and was directed by elite Iraqi military units. Interviews by U.S. government interrogators with Iraqi regime officials and military leaders corroborate the documentary evidence. Many of the fighters were drawn from terrorist groups in northern Africa with close ties to al Qaeda, chief among them Algeria's GSPC and the Sudanese Islamic Army. Some 2,000 terrorists were trained at these Iraqi camps each year from 1999 to 2002, putting the total number at or above 8,000. Intelligence officials believe that some of these terrorists returned to Iraq and are responsible for attacks against Americans and Iraqis. According to three officials with knowledge of the intelligence on Iraqi training camps, White House and National Security Council officials were briefed on these findings in May 2005; senior Defense Department officials subsequently received the same briefing.

They also debunked some of the informers.
[Editor's Note, November 2005: More than two years after the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, there has been no verification of Khodada's account of the activities at Salman Pak. In fact, U.S. officials have now concluded that Salman Pak was most likely used to train Iraqi counter-terrorism units in anti-hijacking techniques. It should also be noted that he and other defectors interviewed for this report were brought to FRONTLINE's attention by the Iraqi National Congress (INC), a dissident organization that was working to overthrow Saddam Hussein. Since the original broadcast, Khodada has not publicly addressed questions that have been raised about his account of activities at Salman Pak.]

Doubt it. I posted this in a bi-partisan forum and it went completely unresponded to.
Yep! : )
"Funding for FRONTLINE is provided through the support of PBS viewers. National sponsorship for FRONTLINE is provided by EarthLink and NPR. Additional funding for this report is provided by The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.
There is no bias at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, is there?
Sarcasm off.
Maybe there will be a highly esteemed Senator on the Sunday shows today that will get asked what they know about these reports.
Maybe it will be McCain, and somebody will asked him why does he oppose finding out what these killers have in mind.
If you do a Google exact phrase search of Salman Pak, you get 73,000 hits. Even Wikipedia(Salman Pak Facility) covers it, including a few of the best links.
Who needs the MSM? :)
BTTT.
Salman Pak------That was the stewardess training center, right?
The lying/decaying MSM will ignore this and spin more lies.
Eventually, the L/MSM will not be able to contain the news they dread to surface from surfacing. But surely they will down play it as much as possible. Page 17 buried between lots of adds for cell phones. Only if bookstore chains agree to advertise books on the findings, and display the books in full view, will this story finally reach the American public, and by default EU.

Has that never been translated? Do you have a lrger copy of the picture? I might find someone who can translate.
Better question, when will the Bush admin publicize this? Having useless Scott McClellen mention it once is as effective as writing in the sand at low tide.
I've seen larger versions on FR - but I'll see what I can do about resizing the picture.
I did everything but stand on my head and I can't get the picture any larger .. sorry!
