WASHINGTON
Embattled Rep. Tom DeLay decided Saturday to give up his post as House majority leader, clearing the way for new leadership elections among House Republicans eager to shed the taint of scandal, two officials said.
These officials said DeLay, R-Texas, was preparing a letter informing fellow House Republicans of his decision. These officials spoke on condition of anonymity, saying they did not want to pre-empt the formal announcement.
DeLay is battling campaign finance charges in Texas and was forced to step aside temporarily as majority leader last fall after he was charged in his home state. He has consistently maintained his innocence and said he intended to resume his leadership post once cleared.

You go ahead and name the 22 RINOs in the Senate that will side with the democrats on this issue. Let me know when you find them.

"Republicans believe in doing the right thing which is to win at the ballot box.
You're right; that's all they believe in. But that's not the right thing.
The rats are able to fight with the media behind them. The republicans do not have that luxury.

Shame and idiocy.
Conservatives empowering their enemies never works, as history shows.
But then for most, history begins when they wake up in the morning. Sad, and too bad that only time will prove it, and by then Conservatives will be blaming the next "corrupt pol", for gov growth, which enables lobbyists.
And all along it turns out to be, gasp! The American people! Whom the Conservative press has had ZERO influence, because THEY refuse to punch out the MSM, by only writing for MSM praise. Oh well, same ol story.

You were very sure that the democrats were going to control the senate in 2006 and have the RINOs joining them to get 67 votes to remove the President. Go ahead and support your assumption with facts.

"Aha! I did not realize that hidden conspiracy by the democrats. Instead of them winning the elections as democrats, they masquerade them as Republicans, and have the Republicans win the elections."I'm sure it's a rude awakening for you, so welcome to surface, and make sure to put on a pair of sunglasses. The glare will hurt your eyes.
Btw, are you at all familiar with "Republican" Senators Chafee, Snowe, McCain, and Specter?

There's a tipping point where the juiciness of the scandal outweighs editorial partisanship. Can we expect the old media to be even handed in this? Take the 'old gray whore' as an example. They have committed treason by publishing National security secrets. Anything that could and would hurt Bush, they are in favor of.
As far as campaign commercials are concerned, remember Kerry almost became president because of the leftist tilt in this country.
This country is dividing very quickly between those who want to go socialist and those who want to maintain our way of life. It ain't gonna be pretty.
Delay should have stayed and fought.

And the rats bring down yet another good man. >>
Nope.
Dig a little deeper.
Texas activist-"Democrat" abuser-of-prosecutor's-office aside, Mr Delay did that to himself. And now he needs to be sent back to Texas and take care of some more bugs and other pests.
There pretty much are no "good men" in the feral or any other gummint and will never be until we strictly short-term-limit every last holder of public office.
And pay the new short-term breed of feral representative and senator competitive market-oriented wages. A single house and senate term and maybe a Several Million Dollars or so a year would be a good place to start.

You are the one who stated the Democrats need 22 votes since the Republicans will have 55 seats after '06. I don't see that and I told you why. Suppose you tell me why they will keep the 55 or add to them.

crooked Dems and RINOs have GOT to go I think Duke was regarded as a conservative and not a rino. I further suspect that the rinos are mostly clean. Think Snowe, Collins, Chaffee, etc. These are honorable men and women. Not as conservative as we would like, but they are honorable people nonetheless.

Any chance that Alito will actually be confirmed? Move On has an ad coming out on Mon. and Fat Kennedy has started his swill attack. Specter can't be trusted to fight a fly, much less his good buds in the dim party....
I'm totally depressed :-(

My whole post is being sarcasm against your insane comments. Yes we have our RINOS but they are not sent by the democrat party as secret agents.
My recommendation for you that if you think that democrat are that smart and that they are winning everything, you go ahead and join them. You will enjoy their many victories when they celebrated their total control of Congress since 1994 (extreme sarcasm) and when they celebrated their total control of the White House since 1980 (extreme sarcasm).

Now is not the time for the Nervous Nellies and RINOS to panic and dilute the conservatism of the GOP.
The Alito nomination is coming up fast, and Republicans must be prepared to end the filibuster that is surely coming from the liberal Democrat party.
If the GOP does not ensure the Alito nomination, they might as well mail in the results of 2006 and 2008.
Let's be conservatives, not mice.
To: jveritas
If the democrats are that smart why are they losing one election after another?Because they are smart in taking out our people, not getting elected.

Join the democrat party and you will be a happy man. They are winning all the time. They have won every presidential election since 1980 and they are in total control of congress.(extreme sarcasm).

I don't know who if any congress critters or their staff that may have been interrogated by the DOJ at this time. I think that DeLay is associated with some trip[s] in which Abramoff was involved with but I don't know any details.
I really don' think the Abramoff stuff will be forthcoming all that quick. It takes the DOJ a long time to work through interrogations and grand jury proceedings. jmo and not what much.

There is a 60% to 40% probability of keeping our 55 senate seats majority. However I do not see in any scenario where the democrats can net a gain of 6 Senate seats. Do you? If so show me where are those seats?
