Ever notice that when you look in a mirror, right is left, but up isn't down? Why is that?

Ever notice that when you look in a mirror, right is left, but up isn't down? Why is that? It's because of the way you turn aroud to look at the image. If you spin around to look at it (on your "yaw" axis) it reverses left and right but not up and down. If you flip over to look at it (on your "pitch" axis) it reverses up and down but not left and right. At least, that's the way it was explained to me anyway.

When I look in a mirror, left is left, right is right, up is up, and down is down.

Mirror doesn't really show what you really look like.
I part my hair on the left.
In the mirror I see my hair parted on the right.
To know what you actually look like you have to look at a reflection of your reflection, Or a photograph.

Ever notice that when you look in a mirror, right is left, but up isn't down? Why is that? Kinda goes hand in hand with that ole gravity thing. Where does it come from, and why don't we fall off the earth?

Ever notice that when you look in a mirror, right is left, but up isn't down? Why is that? Because the mirror reverses front to back, not left to right.

Ever notice that when you look in a mirror, right is left, but up isn't down? Why is that?Right and left are relative to how you are standing. Up and down are not.

Yes, that proves something or other really important in psychology.

Ever notice that when you look in a mirror, right is left, but up isn't down?Did you try holding the mirror sideways?
To: Billthedrill
Well, if up was right, it'd be left in the mirror. This is because up and down is a specific absolute reference like North and South, while left and right are relative references.
And indeed, if right is south and left holds the sign North, it's still North and South in the mirror.
