A Queens cop, who is being dubbed the "hip-hop cop" because of his fascination with the music genre as well as his attempts at breaking into the industry, was arrested recently for gun possession, when he and three other men found in possession of loaded weapons early Tuesday (December 27) in Washington Heights.

Good to see that "the hip-hop cop" is "keepin' it real".
Aren't cops supposed to carry loaded guns?
I thought he would get in trouble if he DIDN'T have his weapon with him, don't most off duty cops carry all the time?
Not ones with the serial numbers filed off.
A 9-mm. semiautomatic pistol, a .380-caliber gun and .45-caliber gun were recovered upon a search Medard's vehicle. The loaded guns' serial numbers had been scratched off, sources said.
One of Medard's associates, Claude Dorsica, confessed to police that their crew was planning a string of robberies. Prosecutors suspect that the robbery attempts would have been on drug dealers in Medard's area.
Well, yeah. Also probably stolen property.
---Aren't cops supposed to carry loaded guns?---
I remember when the New York State police arrested a couple of Brink's guards for illegal weapons. The were coming back from Canada in uniform, in their armored truck. They passed through US customs, but failed to declare their weapons to the New York troopers! A high percentage of these Yankees seem to be mentally retarded.
Oops!
Not good for his police career...but it'll definitely improve his "street cred".
But aren't there severe restrictions on NYPC cops carrying off-duty?
This clown CAN'T be serious about a "thuug" career, can he?
I mean...look at him. He looks like he belongs in a circus.
"Tha Flying Clown"...shot out of a cannon.
The more of these crooked cop stories I read, the more convinced I become that telling little kids "the policeman is your friend" is right up there with telling them that storks bring the babies.
If you're referring to the picture in post #1, dat's Ali G.
I haven't seen a picture of "the hip-hop cop".
The pic is of Ali G, a comedian. It's not the cop.
Ahhh, OK. I'm not into that scene. Please excuse my ignorance on this subject of rappers.
When I was a kid, (w)rappers were what candy came in.
Federal Offense.
They arrest cops in NY for carring guns now??? What the hell are they talking about? Did they mean to say he was a former cop?
