Dear FReeper FRiends,
During a routine call to a business associate, I was saddened to learn that her family had just received word that her grandson, Tony Lutz, was killed in action in Iraq. She was rushing to catch the plane to be with her family, so I didn't get any details other than his name and the fact that he served in the Army (not a Marine). Sorry folks, I wish I had more info on him, but God will know who we're praying about.
Please keep her family in your prayers. She and her husband are lovely, gracious, and very thoughtful people. When I told her I would ask folks to pray for her family, she was deeply touched.
I know from personal experience that FReeper prayers are the most powerful, as prayers for both my daughter in 2001 and son in 2005 resulted in two healthy babies for our family (see "The Life of the Mother" thread).
Many thanks, and my thoughts to all those who have lost loved ones in Iraq.

Prayer ping
Thank you so much, bnelson44, for the link! And thanks to everyone for the prayers, they are deeply appreciated!
We share the sorrow of the loss of this young man's life. Grant unto his family the inner peace that can only come from You during this time of great sadness. Help them to receive the prayers of a grateful nation, and may they proudly remember the bravery and valor of this beloved, fallen hero, who was willing to lay down his life for others. We know that You will receive him into Your loving arms. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Heavenly Father, we return to thank You that You have graced our beloved country with sons and daughters who covet liberty and freedom above life itself. And You have placed these young men and women in families who watch them leave the warmth of home, yet they do so proudly, despite the fear and dread that is deep within every heart. Draw all those who know and love Tony, that they might be comforted in their mutual grief, for their beloved will soon come home to rest in native soil. Write upon the sands of time all that Tony has meant and done that others might be free, that his deeds would be known throughout Eternity. May his family rejoice in his life ... may they be comforted in his death ... and may we continually give thanks for each American son and daughter and their families whose sacrifices keep the lamp of liberty burning brightly. In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ we pray, Amen ...
Oh dear, prayers for the hero and his heartbroken family.
Prayers of love and healing to the family of Army soldier Tony Lutz.
