If they prosecute then it confirms what he is saying is true. The whole motto of the Intel world is "confirm nothing, deny nothing". The mistake made here was Bush admitted to doing it.

Then admitting and disclosing the classified program opens the door to prosecution, yes?

He's a leaker but not the leaker in the current controversy because "he says he was not part of the intercept program which has been in the news."

Which means all he can really provide is here-say. But anything to Bash the President, and the DIA and NSA, I'm sure the Dims will give him a hearing. Even if it's one of those basement hearings with only Democrap Congress Critters present.

Yep. He's got two things they needed. They needed to 'legitimately' use the word 'whistleblower' and they needed someone (US citizen) to say they were the subject of electronic monitoring. This nut case Tice gives them both.

If the program's existence was classified, YES.

Well, we think alike: I just compared his emerging "star-ness"--and his temporary utility for the Rat party---to the aforementioned Ms. Sheehan.

It also wouldn't surprise me a bit that now, nearly a year after his being fired, he has a book ready to be published. Name recognition is important for book sales.

I agree, I think he leaks little bits and the Slimes grab the bit and make a mountain out of it. Even though his little leaking is still illegal there's still bigger fish out there that I hope the DOJ keeps pressing.

I hope orange is their favorite color, because that's what they're going to be wearing for about twenty years. I see this as a pre-emptive ploy, in that they are proud of what they did. Okay, now it's time to pay the piper.

This may be so sensitive we may never hear what the outcome is, except through the leaking Congress. I think the DOJ, NSA IG, etc will not let the public hear about investigation and prosecution, BUT the RAT branch of the Congress will because they call it "Whistle blowing" when it hurts the other party, and the country at war can just be damned. They have to get back in power even if it means people get killed. That is what this comes down to.

You know, someone needs to publish a photo gallery of all these Rat kooks. The whack job behind the forged docs, Richard Clark, Sheehan and on it goes.

Just a Hall of Whack Job Fame thing.

NSA fires whistleblower
By REBECCA CARR
Cox News Service
Thursday, May 05, 2005

WASHINGTON—The National Security Agency fired a high level intelligence official just days after he publicly urged Congress to pass stronger protections for federal whistleblowers facing retaliation.

Russ Tice, 43, who was once nominated for an award by the agency for his intelligence work on Iraq, was informed Tuesday that his security clearances had been permanently revoked and that he could no longer work at the secretive intelligence agency known for its eavesdropping and code-breaking capabilities.

Tice has been at the odds with the agency since he reported suspicions that a female co-worker at the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), was a spy for the People's Republic of China.

Tice, a 20-year veteran of the federal intelligence agencies, worked at DIA until 2002. He made his initial report about the suspected spy at DIA after noticing that a co-worker voiced sympathies for China, traveled extensively abroad and displayed affluence beyond her means." And a nice piece of work he seems:

{quote]The Defense Department psychologist concluded that Tice suffered from psychotic paranoia, according to Tice. "He did this even though he admitted that I did not show any of the normal indications of someone suffering from paranoia," Tice wrote in a statement to the inspector general.

"I knew my from that day that my career was over," said Tice, who has worked in intelligence since he graduated from the University of Maryland in 1985. His job at NSA was so top secret that he could not even reveal his title.

In the summer of 2003, Tice told the NSA that he was considering talking to his congressional representatives about waste and abuse at NSA security. He was told that he would face retaliation if he did so, Tice wrote in his statement to the inspector general.

A few weeks after contacting Sen. Barbara Mikulski, D-Md., the retaliation intensified, he said. The NSA even sent an agent to his home to "threaten me in person with unspecified actions if I went to the press," Tice said.

In August 2004, the agency suspended Tice's clearance. They sent him to the "motor pool' for eight months where he was assigned to fill up NSA vehicles with gas, check fluids and drive around "the bigwigs," on occasion, Tice said in an interview.

He was then put on administrative leave for 14 months. Last month he was re-assigned to the NSA's warehouse where he was ordered to unload furniture from trucks.

"I reported my suspicion and got blown off," Tice said. "I pushed the issue and that ticked them off, the fact that I questioned their almighty wisdom.[/quote] http://www.pulsejournal.com/business/content/

He is a member of a group forme din August 2004 called National Secuity Whistleblowers and sounds nutty as a fruitcake.

>>>A crescent wrench looking for a job as a multimeter.<<<

Brilliant!

My only objection would be that crescent wrenches are adjustable...which implies some degree of intelligence.

More like a nailpunch - hit it in the head and it might do something approximating usefulness.

All I can say is that compartmentalization even in SAP will not allow him to spill too much.

No, if you try to prosecute him, he is entitled to a defense. Then his defense attorney is going to try to subpoena everything that is involved, have people testify about his job and what he did. Just can't do that. Now that doesn't mean that there are no repercussions against people who leak, there are, plus once you're in the Intel community, that is really your career for life and you don't want to risk that. Most people who leave Intel work can't even put it on their resume, and their employer, in most cases, will not even confirm or deny you ever worked for them.
