if Gertz knows he has "asked to testify" - then the FBI surely knows who he is already. why shouldn't he simply be arrested tomorrow if that is the case?

For what? Sending a letter requesting to testify under the whistleblower statute to the heads of the Senate and House intelligence committees. The FBI has to connect him to the NYT. Although fact that his letter is dated same day as NYT first published the leak does look suspicious.

They cover for each other?

Who is covering for the Bush administration in the Plame/Fitzgerald farce?

He's probably one of the Slimes sources and it appears that he will try to fall on the sword to shield the other(s).

THE GUY IS A FRAUD..and a Loon.

Read the piece in the post that this post is replying to.

The guy does not even know the law. Or the fact that FISA ruled in favor of these taps back in 2002.

In the past...it seems he has claimed that a co-worker was a spy from china. When it did not pan out....his career went down hill.

Just because your paranoid doesn't mean the NSA doesn't have your phone tapped. Sorry, couldn't resist.

Yup. He's a nutcase.

Seems to sum up the situation. Makes him a possible MSM star. After all, look at Cindy Sheehan!

I am stunned to think the DoJ knows who this guy is, and haven't arrested him!

Actually, it is very rare that the Intel Community will ever prosecute a leak (a Spy yes, a Leak, no) If they prosecute then it confirms what he is saying is true. The whole motto of the Intel world is "confirm nothing, deny nothing". The mistake made here was Bush admitted to doing it. If he wasn't POTUS, he would have lost his security clearance for doing that.

A tool, yes, until, like Cindy Sheehan, he wears out his welcome.

Stunned? The DoJ only goes after Republicans. Where have you been?

Are you saying the DOJ is filled with RAT just like the CIA and FBI? Man, are we in trouble - can't they clean out the RAT civil servants?

Yes, I did find that odd. Well, they had 1 year to think about it. Must have some strategy behind it.

Some of these people---especially the ones who are *diagnosed* as psychotic paranoids---are professional, 24/7 "whistleblowers." Since they see "wrongdoing" under every rock, they are constantly "whistleblowing" about it.

I don't know that claiming your coworker is a Chinese spy really qualifies you for "whistleblower status," especially if there is no evidence that your coworker is a Chinese spy.

I have some experience in this area, because I worked with a guy I was sure was a Soviet cosmonaut, and lost my job when I violently insisted he spill the beans about the "visitors" he met in space.

Most civil servants are not Republicans. Republicans have a hard time dealing with the bureaucracy.

The guy does not even know the law. Or the fact that FISA ruled in favor of these taps back in 2002.

The vacuum cleaner known as NSA has been known and accepted in open hearings and court cases since the 1970's, including the ability to grab messages based on keyword.

The fact that Tice offered to testify should not be news. It's bad for his mental health. Seriously.

Well, we think alike: I just compared his emerging "star-ness"--and his temporary utility for the Rat party---to the aforementioned Ms. Sheehan.

He's a leaker but not the leaker in the current controversy because "he says he was not part of the intercept program which has been in the news."

Believe me, NSA has everything compartmentalized and he will only be able to "leak" little bits.

"The Defense Department psychologist concluded that Tice suffered from psychotic paranoia"

I saw the same thing in other articles off the google search listed on page two of this thread.

The guy is a Sect. 8....all the way.

He probably wrote the letters from the special VA in Kansas....where people go for..."some relaxing time"
