I am stunned to think the DoJ knows who this guy is, and haven't arrested him!

Stunned? The DoJ only goes after Republicans. Where have you been?

Marching right along in efforts to hang a "Watergate" on the President.

I think we're in the process of witnessing another news myth in the making - "Why, if it hadn't been for the fearless, vigilant media, that sneaky ole' George Bush would've gotten away with it, yada yada yada......."

This is just a "cover yer ass" Hail Mary move on the part of a traitor because he knows they will find him and hang him (figuratively)

If true, the hanging need not be figurative. A real rope would be appropriate.

In August 2004, the agency suspended Tice's clearance. They sent him to the "motor pool' for eight months where he was assigned to fill up NSA vehicles with gas, check fluids and drive around "the bigwigs," on occasion, Tice said in an interview.

He was then put on administrative leave for 14 months. Last month he was re-assigned to the NSA's warehouse where he was ordered to unload furniture from trucks.

Golly. I do feel sorry for folks who have mental illness. Speculation on one of the other links was that he equated the "vacuum cleaner" approach of NSA information gathering as being in violation of FISA. News flash, "It's not."

Now the fellow is going to be a tool - a willing an enthuisatic tool at that, but the wrong tool for the job, even if it was well intentioned.

This guy has been trying to get on TV for the last month, offering to tell everything he knows about a program he didn't work on.

I don't know why Gertz and Drudge decided that it's news now.

Who wants to bet that the leaker is a Clinton administration appointee?

Did you bother to read the article, the "whistle blower" Tice is a former intelligence officer with both the NSA and the Defense Intelligence Agency. Its not an appointive office.

As I understand your question - Yes, this person has violated the law by disclosing classified secrets. He knows he will be outted and apparently is attempting to preempt felony charges with the whistleblower excuse.

You and I both hope no one gives this person immunity - they have committed a felony and must do the time.

Possible former FISA judge, maybe?

The article says Tice is a former NSA and DIA intelligence analyst.

Maybe because they know he's nuts and once he gets out there everybody is going to know he's nuts?

I believe that is his version of his resume. How it stands up to scrutiny for accuracy will be interesting.

He's a leaker but not the leaker in the current controversy because "he says he was not part of the intercept program which has been in the news."

I agree that your take is a likely scenario. Yet, if the NYT takes up for the case of the traitor, it will yet another nail in their coffin.

Get the popcorn ready.

Some of these people---especially the ones who are *diagnosed* as psychotic paranoids---are professional, 24/7 "whistleblowers."

Since they see "wrongdoing" under every rock, they are constantly "whistleblowing" about it.

"He's a leaker but not the leaker in the current controversy because "he says he was not part of the intercept program which has been in the news."

Not necessarily, he would have only had to know about the program, not participate in it.
