Grand Total $1,541,673
bump, thanks for posting that.
My senators seemed to have brought in some big $$$ from this....appears Maurice Hinchey wasn't given a cut.
What's even better about that site is you can see the lobbying reports. Interesting that Dingy Harry's Legislative Counsel, Edward Ayoob (?spelling) is listed as a lobbyist many times. He was a lobbyist with Greenburg Trairig which was Abrahamhoff's baby. But Harry didn't know...
Reminds me of the song "Scotty doesn't know" from Eurotrip...
(curtseying)
That is as important as footnoting a source.
"Grand Total $1,541,673" democrats.
From a website cited in a later post, the grand, grand total was $4.5 million.
I'm just trying to get a handle on the relative size of this, and how "bipartisan it is.
Apparently, about two to one, more Republican dollars.
Links to various sites with contribution details and totals?
"Here is the ENTIRE list. I was just intrested in why the Democrat Part contibutions are being spiked by the Dinasour Media?
http://www.capitaleye.org/abramoff_recips.asp"
This is DIFFERENT, than the totals you posted in #1.
What gives? How do you go from the dollar values for dems on the webpage you refer to, and the totals you posted in #1?
... for what it worth, here as a side-by-side comparision of Pubs vs Dems ... note the two columns at the right comparing totals, as well as largest individual contribution, second largest etc ...

HK
"$68,000 to Harry Reid"
$98,550 to John Kerry (Is the Catsup well running dry?)
Wonder is there are any records on George Soros?
Bump for later
Yes, she is on the list.
Irrelevant attempt at to diver attention off topic. Doesn't matter who "Got more" that is just an attempt to rationalize making excuses for the Democrats on the list. The Republicans are NOT the ones making the "Culture of Corruption" accusations. The Democrats are the accusers and are making the accusations KNOWING full well they are equally guilty. That makes the Democrats action in this matter far far far worse.
Nice try to make excuses for the Democrats but it will not work. Doesn't do any good to argue Democrats are "less guilty" because some Republicans got more money. That whole defense has all ready been render hypocritical and false when the Democrat Party has gone out and claimed "they don't know jack" in an Ad Campaign. Some of the people on the list (Like Nancy Pelosie and Harry Reid) are the shrillest voices in the Democrat Party screaming about the "GOP Scandal".
The real scandal here is how the self proclaimed "People Watch Dogs", the establishment Journalists, are busy acting as the willing Propaganda Mouthpieces for the Democrat Party PR game.
What does it say that Democrat Party leaders, who are ON THE LIST, are busy claiming guilt by association and accusation for the Republicans on the List? What does it say about the Democrats who are MAKING the accusation when they are equally tied to the supposed source of corruption, Abrahamoff? If you are REALLY interested in "truth seeking" you would not be so desperate to make up phony excuses for the Democrats on this.
Looks like just about everybody in Congress was on the take.
Here is a source too;
Jack Abramoff Lobbying and Political Contributions, 1999 - 2006*
http://www.capitaleye.org/abramoff_recips.asp
Ah but not everyone in Congress is making the accusation that money from Abramoff is "proof" of corruption. So what does it tell us when the Democrats screaming that money from Abramoff is PROOF of corruption are tied to Abramoff themselves??????
Thanks for the link. Love your tag line. So the trick is to break the computer....guess I will live with a dirty house then :-)
LOL, I get a lot of comments on my tagline, maybe I should change it because I do the cleanup before I get on. [My husband just likes to 'undo' any cleanup I do!]
bump, to keep it in the LIGHT
We are on the same side. But you are the one who posted the figures for democrats.
Then when asked for a source, the source you cited did NOT have the same figures.
My point: If we show figures for democrats, they must be correct. For credibility sake.
That is how the public accusation game is played.
Every person on the list who runs will face accusations by his opponent. The list shows more Republicans, so they face the greater risk of losing the next election, on because of this issue.
Virtually EVERY Democrat in the US Congress has DIRECTLY received money from Abramoff. The Democrat Congressional Election groups recived more then half a Million. Thus ANY Democrat challenger will be using Abraoff's money in their war chest.
So, the Democrats are claiming that money from Abramoff is "proof" of corruption yet it turns out THEY PERSONALLY are tied to the SAME "corruption".
To try to manufacture claims the Republicans are "more guilty" is NONSENSE. Republicans are NOT making the accusation that money from Abramoff is corrupting. Democrats are making that claim. SO after making the claim that they "Don't know Jack" it turns out well YES, they ALL DID KNOW JACK. Sorry there Democrats are not only guilty of self proclaimed corruption but of also being liars and hypocrites. If they lied to us about THIS, what ELSE are Democrats lying to the voters about???????
