Breaking on CNN live right now.
big one now near the Beeline Furniture store (111th and Hwy 75). That is just 2 miles West of us. Will keep you all posted if we have to evacuate....
Heh, I moved down here recently myself. On my side of town, you also get the Edmond effect... where it can be north 164th and south 15th and be the same street. Or even more fun, Edmond Rd.. unless you are in Edmond, in which case it's 2nd.. I think.
Thanks. So far, all is ok in this corner of town. It got too durn close a couple of days ago tho, close to SE15th and Choctaw.
Too late tonight -- will probably show up on one of tomorrow's morning shows if he can.
Radio update at 8:05 p.m.:
40-50,000 acres burned in Hobbs area, alone. Fire in Tatum has moved to the Texas/NM border. Nursing home patients and staff now moving back from the high school. Number of structures burned reduced from 20 to 14, but no one allowed back in the burn area for up to 24 hours while investigators search homes and put back utilities. Burned structures include homes, barns, sheds, but exact types not given, nor have any resident's names been released.
What town?
"It is the prairie!!!!!!!!"
Excuse me, but there are hundreds of us who live out on the prairie. We don't just have our homes to worry about, but our livlihoods---cattle, horses, hay, grazing land, etc.---we feed the rest of you. The fires here have burned around us for days. There are some who have found their spooked cattle caught in fences and burned to death. Personally we've only had a quarter of an inch of rain since July--have had to feed hay since Sept. Hope everyone is ready for a 10.00 hamburger.
My husband's other brother lives in Mustang. Burned houses two streets over. That is pretty close.
Oh my, that's not to far from here, but far enough it's not a threat. But that's probably why I'm smelling smoke.

I was wondering why, after a week of this, firefighters of now broke fire departments are having to buy resupplies on their personal credit cards, instead of the OK governor granting these dept's emergency funding.
That's kind of between Jenks and Glenpool.
Becky
I'm in the NE corner, right on the 'A' and it is closer to "severe".
Thanks for the map!
Keep us posted, Becky. I just went out to check and it smells about the same here as before. I think the wind is even stronger than it was.
Definitely keep us posted, CharlieOK1, and I hope you don't have to leave. I'm saying a prayer for everyone of us in the path of this thing.
Beeline is not that far away from Becky either.
Beeline is just south and west of Jenks.
I just heard an update from one of the local stations, and it sounded like from them the wind is blowing it north and east, which is away from me.
Becky
Thanks for the map. We are in the black circle just south of the Red River. Have had fires on all sides for the last week. At about 5:30 this morning a very damp south wind moved in. Not as good as rain, but for the first time in over a week I don't smell smoke.
Because the governor is a complete idjit. But you can bet the casinos and cigarette taxes will get straight. Maybe.
I'm glad you're OK -- must be scary being so close.
I saw that and I'm grateful to have people who care!
Wind has picked back up here in Stephens County, Ok. If I had to guess it's probably gusting close to 30-35 mph. I've turned on our scanner and am listening to our local police, local state police channel and Duncan, Ok police channels. I'll update when or if I hear anything.
Wow. I drove through that area a few days ago and passed four wildfires, or the smoke from them, in a space of 200 miles. It's bad.
Best of luck, I hope you get some moisture. I heard someone say it was raining a little in Cordell.
