Rossiya - mark
"The strategic intelligence directorate becomes, in effect, a super-secret part of the KGB that is unknown even to most KGB officials."
This will no doubt sound a little "foil hat" to some freepers. However, readers of Suvorov's book, Inside the GRU, will find this idea perfectly natural, or should I say, perfectly Russian.
Incredible!
Bookmarked!
"I would take as a working hypothesis that the KGB has many operations (broken into 5 year periods) operating against the United States."
true. But it's beyond a working hypothesis. It's an established fact.
There have also been reports that critical information was funneled
through the Russian Lourdes intelligence facility in Cuba to the
terrorists. If anything, cooperation between Cuba and the various
terrorist Muslim states in the Middle East increased in 2001.
Additionally, as pointed out by Yossef Bodansky ("Bin Laden," Prima,
1999), since the mid-1990s bin Laden has been using the Russian
Mafia (i.e., KGB entities) for the covert movement of funds to support
terrorist operations and to acquire terrorist arms, explosives and
related materials. <<<<<<<<
This fits my 'granny googles' and should open a few eyes.
Excellent report.............
It the past, according to a published Washington Post article, whenever you dialed a Pentagon extension the call was also routed to Cuba. I don't know if it has change today, but I will give you odds,
Its mission is to run those extremely important foreign operations that are the core of Russia's continuing attack on the industrialized countries: terrorism, drug trafficking and organized crime are within this core set of operations.
Hurry! Ping the liberaltarians!
Sarcasm: There is no connection here to cultural Marxism, crime and drugs... no, none at all...
The Nuclear Option
If you want to be added to this list, please notify me...
Originally, the Nuclear Option Ping List started out as a practical joke. With all the vitriolic response I received from certain un-named individuals, I figured it would be a great idea to do it for real...
I have observed here on Free Republic, a never ending flaming of religious folks and conservatives by people who promote things such as drug abuse, homosexuality, the ritual murder of abortion and other garbage.
Not being an orthodox or ecumenical atheist, it has really stretched my patience. I do not think policemen are jack-booted thugs, nor do I look at people who want to protect their families from filthy scum as brownshirts.
The purpose of this is to alert people to the cultural Marxism run amok... Drugs, sex perverts, pornography (in film and in music), marijuana, liquor, bashing the religious people, destroying social institutions (like marriage and the Boy Scouts), etc., etc.,... ad nausea...
The druggies like the sex perverts can only perpetuate an ever increasing market for their filth by molesting the minds and bodies of the young ones... this is the only way they get new Demo-rat voters... CHEMICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL WARFARE!
It is no coincidence Islamic pagans hate Israel, Jews, Christians and Western Civilization. The entire basis of Western Civilization is Mosaic Law, something both the Neo-Pagan Left and the pagan Islamic thugs cannot abide and wish to destroy.
The very idea that human beings have individual rights not subject to the whims of a monarch, but subject to the laws of Yahweh, is directly from Moses.
Historically, this is proven over and over again with the succsessive conflicts between the forces of paganism and the Judaic culture. It is being played out here and all over the world today...
Observing this as an atheist, I prefer the paradigm of a Judaic culture to the chaotic death cult of New Age neo-pagan absurdity.
I have no doubt that you are correct.
Using a simple basic Google search, I have found that Iran,
China, N. Korea and Russia are still on Cuba, with bases for all kinds of things, as well as several labs.
There is a never ending supply of searches, also for
terrorist training camps and al-qaida/al-qaeda.
From my digging, it looks as tho Castro helps train al-qaida and then they do the wet foot entry, or simply fly to Mexico and cross the border, with fake ID or no ID.
I have been watching Cuba for several years, as during the
Cuban crisis, my husband and step-father, were both there in the U.S. Navy.
For those that can see.
Should also read Golytsin's book,New Lies For Old.
"Should also read Golytsin's book,New Lies For Old."
Couldn't agree more. Ideally, The Perestroika Deception should also be read. I did purchase it myself, but I can understand how some people would balk at the price which is a little over $30.
Great to see a fellow Golitzen/Suvorov fan. I put Pacepa in the same category.
Just a few days ago, I became aware of someone who had been high up in Czech intelligence who apparently has said things quite parallel to what Golitsyn has said. Don't have the reference handy.
"Incredible!"
thanks
"Excellent report......"
glad you like it

Quite interesting. Suvorov (a GRU defector)claimed but there were small number of Spetnaz troops mixed among the Cubans who went to Africa. As a former member of the GRU, Suvorov was in a good position to know about this. The Spetnaz are troops subordinate to the GRU.
"critical information was funneled

I also found that interesting that a soldier's weblog that was posted on FR (sorry, I did not record the address of the post)claimed that the best fighters he and his fellows encountered on the ground in Iraq were Chechnyan's. The story is, they got to be so good by fighting the Russians.
I find this quite convenient. The soldier was explicit I believe in saying that these were white, Russian speaking people. Of course, this would be the story that Spetnaz soldiers fighting against us in Iraq would be telling people.
In addition, Suvorov (1987) explained that the Russians have special interest in people (Russians) of different races and with different cultural backgrounds becoming part of Spetznaz. After World War II for example, many of the captured German soldiers stayed in Russia, partly Suvorov says, because they committed crimes against their fellow German soldiers to make their captivity easier. These German soldiers married, frequently marrying among the people of German race who live in Russia and raised children who were excellent German speakers and had a strong German cultural background. These children were then prime candidates for Spetnaz. Apparently, the first generation would have been inappropriate for this purpose due to a lack of family hostages being held by the Russian government when they went on operations into another country.
Before the breakup of the Soviet Union, various dark skinned, Arabic speaking Central Asians would have also been available for this purpose. I don't believe these people would seem exactly like the people originating in the Middle East itself, but I think they might be taken for Northern Africans by people in the Middle East (non-experts). (Granted, this is speculation on my part.)
Nuclear weapons are useless if you have nobody to retaliate against.
The Golytsin/Angleton partnership was a watershed era in American intelligence. They lost. The defector whom the KGB sent to convince the CIA they had nothing to do with Lee Harvey Oswald during his long sojourn in the Soviet Union, drove the mole-hunter Angleton mad. The question on whether or not to accept him as genuine split the intelligence community down the middle, a fracture that never really healed.
Although subsequent events were to prove that Angleton's suspicions were well-founded, the only one to emerge from the fray with reputation at least somewhat intact was Golytsin. I believe he went to live in England. (alive today??) His predictions were quite uncanny in their accuracy. (And very frightening.)
