Quite interesting. Suvorov (a GRU defector)claimed but there were small number of Spetnaz troops mixed among the Cubans who went to Africa. As a former member of the GRU, Suvorov was in a good position to know about this. The Spetnaz are troops subordinate to the GRU.

This one needs a better look, as I know there are and have
some strange troops in Mexico. I have lived near that Mexican Border for over 65 years, from 5 miles away to the now 200 miles away, so know some of its history.
Even searched for the Cave of Pancho Villa's guns in the Jacumba mountains of Calif. No, did not find them.
