I got my daughters started on Kimchi (supposed to lower cholesterol) and the one that lives close makes it for me.

We haven't tried the store bought but the stuff she makes is so good. I'll have to try it with yellow rice.

What a great thread this is, nobody has gotten nasty.

Wow, he's actually introducing acts and doing more MC'ing. I thought he would just make that first appearance and that would be all. Yeah, bless his heart.

bah; a day like any other. The only thing different is the date on the calendar. Why wait til it changes to make changes... Nothing new under the sun.

I just turned to ABC...poor, poor Dick Clark, I feel so bad for him...

Okay, question: Would you do what he is doing..or go "out" as people remembered you..very young looking and acting for your age??

LOL NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! That is some vile stuff, at least all I have had.

I know a lot of people say the same thing but there are so many ways to make it(ingredients) that you didn't have the good stuff.

My dear Dad never regained his speech after his major stroke. To this day he can't talk. I'd give anything if he could do what Dick Clark is doing tonight...So yes, Dick continues to be a positive role model as his fans age..

That's a tough question. I dunno. I damn near burst into tears when I saw and heard Dick Clark tonight. At 29, I remember him from the years of him doing the New Years shows. To see him now...In a way I'm glad to see him there, "warts and all" so to speak. I can't imagine what New Years is going to look like when he is truly gone from us.

I just learned to flatfoot Appalachian style, so I have high hopes for two-steppin'. Investing, though, is not my cup of tea....it's going to be more of a forced learning situation, lol.

well get ready, the naval observatory is about to move the clock one second ahead which is done only once every 7 yrs and hasnt been done since the tech boom; everything may hiccup if servers are not synched. fyi in control panel there is date and time settings and in there you can synch your pc clock to the atomic clock.

My Dad lost his speech after his stroke also....but, he died two days later..he wasn't much of a "talker" so that wouldn't have bothered him that much...but, he couldn't swallow either...and he LOVED to eat...so he would have been miserable being on a feeding tube the rest of his life.

I just asked the question...but, I see your point about a "role model". I think he is brave man....I just don't think I would have been so brave.

It is a dish made with fermented cabbage...which in a way, is what sauerkraut is...but, my husband said that in Vietnam, they would have these crocks of this fermented cabbage and would just keep adding leftover veggies to it...

and he said the smell, would knock him over..and the people that ate it, as their main food, even smelled like it when they weren't eating it.

I report, you decide....LOL

It was a fair question..I'm sure it's being debated all over the country tonight.

My Dad was tube fed and they said he would never swollow again..but he did and eats like a horse now!

Sorry your Dad didn't make it. Hugs..sw
