(Brockton, MA) Supporters of gay marriage in Massachusetts have posted all 123,356 names and addresses of those who signed a petition to reverse legalized same-sex marriage throughout the state on a well known gay rights Web site. Employees and volunteers posted the names on Knowthyneighbor.org. The database is searchable by first name, last name, home town, and ZIP code and offers visitors a 'fraud affidavit" to use 'if your name is listed and you believe you were a victim of petition fraud."
Supporters of a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage in Massachusetts shattered a 20-year-old record for the most certified signatures ever gathered in support of a proposed ballot question.
The proposed amendment is intended to overrule a Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court decision that legalized same-sex "marriage" in May 2004. An estimated 6,500 gay and lesbian couples have since married in the state.
If approved by voters, the amendment would require the state to define marriage "only as the union of one man and one woman." This would prohibit gay "marriage" after 2008, but would not affect established homosexual marriages.
"The people have not just spoken, they have shouted to let the people vote on the definition of marriage," Kristian Mineau, president of the Massachusetts Family Institute, which spearheaded the signature drive, told the Boston Globe.
As of press time Tuesday, no formal complaints had been filed against Knowthyneighbor.org.
I was thinking the same thing, but it appears that you did have to be a Mass resident to sign this petition.
We could start our own petition and mail it to them I guess.
I INSIST that they include my name on that list.
The list is a public document filed with the AG's Office. No one has in the past gone after it with this much zeal as using it for such direct action against signers would lead to retribution when the other sides refurendums come up. You know. Landlords could jack up the rent on tenants that sign Prop 2 1/2 overrides. Teachers neglect a student whose parents signed the Income Tax Rollback. etc. My column on this should be in The Malden Observer tomorrow.
How do I get my name on that list?
Tell them what you think of their strong armed tactics!

I think a list of HIV positives are now in order for public health reasons.
Oooo... they're going to hurt some feelings... NOT!
Is there a problem here? It is a public record, after all.
Right... give them a big pile of "fraud affidavits" to wave around, and when they present them, they'll find that every one of these affidavits is a fraud. Get the libs all excited just to crush their hopes... isn't that what living is all about?
Also 10 people with the last name "Frank" signed it.
This web site is trying to intimidate a person signing a petition by encouraging retribution.
Fire...shoot self in foot...think about target. LOL
This'll make those 120k+ folks vote for sure next round.
List is certainly useful for any MA conservative group.
No gripes possible now when glbt lists are broadcast.
Dufi!
A listing there would be a badge of honor.
Just checked. Yup, my name's there. Not intimidated. Will sign again if necessary.
I really think we conservatives should start doing the same thing - posting information about members of looney left organizations and activists. To date I don't believe a single conservative group has either threatened and/or done that. If they're willing to use that type of intimidation, I say let them see how it looks from the other side.
BINGO, Article 48 is a constitutional right in MA.
And since it is searchable by zip code, it facilitates going around the neighborhood, vandelizing the property (home and/or car) of every signer
Not to get too technical . . . but its not "Saaay" it is "Heey". Jeez, if your going to ridicule us, at least do it correctly.
Sidebar, Governor Romney and family signed it.
