Frequent question! No I did not play the sousaphone. Other than the very first Script Ohio in 1936, it has been a sousaphone player that dotted the i. By the way, that trumpet player who dotted the first script, John Brungart, just died a few months ago. The history of Script Ohio can be found here. My son is in the band now (trombone) and heads for the Fiesta Bowl this Friday. I can't decide between Ohio State (class of '83) or my Catholic roots of rooting for Notre Dame as a kid. I'll probably be rooting for Ohio State.

It may have been manslaughter, it may have been murder; because the DA took a dive on the case, we'll never know for sure.

Red Sox ping via Ch 5: Former Red Sox reliever Jeff
Reardon, 50, arrested for robbery of a jewelry store.
Spending night in the pen, and not the bullpen.

Turn out the lights The party's over They say that All good things must end Call it tonight The party's over And tomorrow starts The same old thing again But the crazy crazy party Never seen so many people Laughing dancing Look at you you're having fun But look at me I'm almost cryin' That don't keep her love from dyin' Misery cause for me the party's over Turn out the lights... Once I had a love undyin' I didn't keep it but I tried Life for me was just one party And then another I broke her heart so many times I had to have my parting wife I had to have my party Why broke her heart so many times But one day she said Sweetheart the party's over Turn out the lights...

There's hope for you (grin).
Also, it's interesting, AJ Hawke is dating sister of ND QB Brady Quinn. OSU AD is Gene Scott, who until 6 months ago was the AD for ASU (who plays in same stadium as the Fiesta Bowl) and played for ND. OSU B.S.E.E. 1981.

Lt did not do it on purpose.Things happen out there. LT is a very humble but powerful player. I understand that it wasn't on purpose. It was one of the most heart wrenching things to watch though. To this day I've never seen anything like that.

I am a Charger Fan My condolences - I'd be pulling my hair out if my team was bounced out of the playoffs because they couldn't beat Miami or the Eaglets - but DID beat New England and the Colts.

I dunno...does being videotaped with a hooker in a motel qualify? Not if there's crack involved, and you're the mayor of D.C.

Yes, I heard them talking about it on Ch. 5 right after the game...may pop up online sometime today. The showed a pic of him (heavy beard) and I heard something about him being accused of robbing a jewelry store, and the bit about "he'll
be spending tonight in the pen, not the bullpen"
Reardon comes from Dan Duquette's hometown of Dalton, MA
(say what you want about Dan but he was the one who orig.
signed the likes of Damon); I went through that area once and drove by "Jeff Reardon Field" IIRC
Oh: here it is, from the Globe:
Former Sox pitcher Reardon arrested
December 27, 2005
Righthander Jeff Reardon, who was instrumental in the Minnesosta Twins' 1980 World Series championship and also pitched for the Red Sox from 1990-92, was arrested in Florida yesterday on suspicion of committing armed robbery. According to a release from the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department, Reardon, 50, entered a jewelry store in a shopping mall and handed a clerk a note demanding money. The clerk, believing he had a gun, filled a bag with an undisclosed amount of cash. Reardon fled with the cash and was followed by the store manager and arrested outside a restaurant, police said . . .
