OK, new thread for the next week.
First, a big shout out to the SETI members who have added CPUs to the effort. Remember, its Team 36120, NOT Team 0.
Next, congrats to all for bumping our team up to 104 processors and 76 users. We have a number of new users in the team, with Clara Lou, fzx12345, SamfromLivingston, brityank, manwiththehands and Tami all popping onto the hit list this week.
Malsua, uriah and Ken in Texas are solidly in the top 10. Malsua is continuing to add systems and now accounts for 10% of the FR total. Great job!
Free Republic Folding@Home Stats Page
On the global front, Free Republic Folders is now listed at # 1196. We are poised to overtake (today):
carletonu (maybe in MN?)
Helms-Deep
2*ian
Dynadues
Soluchis
Greece and soon the
University of Pennsylvania!
We were passed by one team, SISD. My guess is that this team really is the computers of an Independent School District that were all "volunteered" to fold over the holidays. They are producing points at a rate of 37,000 points per day. As we gain members from the 100,000 FReepers that visit JimRob's place I expect that we will have a much greater long term growth than them.
Gol dangit!! You made me get out a t-shirt and try it....
It actually works, LOL!!
If you are still having a problem pushing a work unit up, look at this. He had the same problem.

I just want to thank "y'all" for cueing me in to this FUN project!

:O)

No problem. Now it's your turn to recruit a few more members for the mighty FR team :)
Everyone, check out the new FR team logo

OK, just got number SIX online!
Man, if I wasn't goin' through an audit right now, I'd throw together 5 or 6 more. I'll still try to get the other two that are put together going tomorrow.
Right now, though, I'm going to bed.
:O)

I'm running it on a FreeBSD 5.4 box. No problems, runs fast, plays nicely with others.
I run the FAH client under Daemontools. An earlier thread linked some great instructions at bsdguides.org; I didn't take notes, but don't think I changed anything there, and it came right up.
That's outstanding. Lol... and I thought I was obsessed... :) My wife is like seriously PO'd about all the cat-5 cables, and she flat out refused to let me set up the old dell server.. (it's one of those cube models, with like 8 fans, and sounds like a 747... If I could figure out a way to get cat-5 out to the garage...... )
It should make a nice spike in the stats page, when your machines, and those that joined with you, get kicking, as well
as all the others that joined yesterday and today...
up on the overtake horizon..
da shizzle
frazzled!
Geezers
Harvard
and
Ballroom Dancers
and our only overtaking team, Brock University, just fell back to 1.6 years....
I've got one that I d/l'd last night at 9:04, it's still sitting in 1d04h and 28%...but it's only a 46 pointer. I think I screwed up when I noticed that I didn't have the team number and I added it.
I was thinking about dumping it and starting that one over with a fresh d/l.
What do you think?
:O)
P
I'd let it run... while the points are nice, the important part is getting the Work Units completed so the results can get turned back in.
