OK, new thread for the next week.
First, a big shout out to the SETI members who have added CPUs to the effort. Remember, its Team 36120, NOT Team 0.
Next, congrats to all for bumping our team up to 104 processors and 76 users. We have a number of new users in the team, with Clara Lou, fzx12345, SamfromLivingston, brityank, manwiththehands and Tami all popping onto the hit list this week.
Malsua, uriah and Ken in Texas are solidly in the top 10. Malsua is continuing to add systems and now accounts for 10% of the FR total. Great job!
Free Republic Folding@Home Stats Page
On the global front, Free Republic Folders is now listed at # 1196. We are poised to overtake (today):
carletonu (maybe in MN?)
Helms-Deep
2*ian
Dynadues
Soluchis
Greece and soon the
University of Pennsylvania!
We were passed by one team, SISD. My guess is that this team really is the computers of an Independent School District that were all "volunteered" to fold over the holidays. They are producing points at a rate of 37,000 points per day. As we gain members from the 100,000 FReepers that visit JimRob's place I expect that we will have a much greater long term growth than them.
What vanity of yours was SM talking about earlier? I looked, but I couldn't find it.
NVIDIA GeForce2 Go (Microsoft Corporation) [Display adapter]
is not listed when you click on the "Products Supported" link on the left side of the page you linked.
There's a ton of products listed...just not mine...and I don't know how to find out what I need.
I started that team before I became aware of the existing FR team.
I can change the name so people realize that we have another FR team that is much higher in the rankings.
Any suggestions for a team name?
Alrighty, I retired SETI and put 3 more boxes online for y'all - got a 40-pointer coming up in a couple of hours, and 400 more in a couple of days :)
Download it and try it anyway. If it doesn't recognize a qualifying product it'll complain during the install and tell you to cancel. Don't sweat it. You're not going to break anything permanently. If it works, you're set, if it doesn't it won't break your current driver.
For now I changed it to " CHANGE YOUR TEAM # - Team FreeRepublic is # 36120"

check out that cool team logo :)
I had done SETI for years, and reached over 20000 (along with the help of some idle computers at a university...).
If I had known that Freepers were doing SETI, I probably would have had them count here. As it was, I let DH post them under Team Navy (I believe it was...)
Folding@Home is a very worthy cause.
Download the software and sign up on the Folding@Home website: http://folding.stanford.edu
FreeRepublic's team number is 36120
You win. LOL
systematic,
Thanks for the info, I'll check into it.
Alas, since I have moved, I don't have access to those huge sun boxes anymore. I was chunking out about 140 a night with those puppies.
How do you find out how many points your WUs are worth?
Looks like JSL & CementJungle are the only active workers on that name.
The regular stats show us at 1104... have we passed 1100 yet?
I think 1000 is doable before the end of the year...
Some of them are listed here:
http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/allprojects
To find out what a WU is worth...look at what it's working on via the gui or console log and look it up here:

Dang... what's the battery life?
I know. We're trying to get them over to Team #36120
I don't really know. I watched a dvd on a flight to Germany last year, but that was the longest I've ever used it on batt power. Heck, I bought a 10kw GEN/APU and a 3k watt pure sine wave inverter for my big truck...I don't need no batteries! LOL
The only negative thing I can say about this one is, I wish I had got one with PCI Express! I have an ATI Mobility Radeon 9700/256MB and it does run hot. The GPU has been as high as 68c! But, other than that, a little over a year later, I still love it.
:O)
