OK, new thread for the next week.
First, a big shout out to the SETI members who have added CPUs to the effort. Remember, its Team 36120, NOT Team 0.
Next, congrats to all for bumping our team up to 104 processors and 76 users. We have a number of new users in the team, with Clara Lou, fzx12345, SamfromLivingston, brityank, manwiththehands and Tami all popping onto the hit list this week.
Malsua, uriah and Ken in Texas are solidly in the top 10. Malsua is continuing to add systems and now accounts for 10% of the FR total. Great job!
Free Republic Folding@Home Stats Page
On the global front, Free Republic Folders is now listed at # 1196. We are poised to overtake (today):
carletonu (maybe in MN?)
Helms-Deep
2*ian
Dynadues
Soluchis
Greece and soon the
University of Pennsylvania!
We were passed by one team, SISD. My guess is that this team really is the computers of an Independent School District that were all "volunteered" to fold over the holidays. They are producing points at a rate of 37,000 points per day. As we gain members from the 100,000 FReepers that visit JimRob's place I expect that we will have a much greater long term growth than them.
When I see Folding@Home, I can't help but think of laundry day, but I'll bump the thread anyway.

You have it working yet?
I know you weren't asking me but I have a regular old HP tower system running a 2.5 gig Pentium IV. I have XP and have been folding since yesterday afternoon. No WU's complete yet. :-(
Oh yea, and I downloaded the graphical client.
It may take anywhere from 6 to 36 hours to complete a WU (based on size of WU assigned). However, the longer it takes to complete a WU, the more points you get.
Woo Hoo!!
One of our team members got a 600 point WU as his/her first WU.
My largest WU to date was only 166 points.
So, my old, Winders 98 system that just hit 10% of it's WU after a week and a half will outscore my cad station. Awesome.
Hear that Bessie, you're not heading for the scrap heap just yet.
Does it count cpu's or machines with a cpu? I mean I have 7 cpu's on it, but only 4 machines, so what does it count and where does it display that info?
I guess it updates at certain intervals, 'cause I'm not listed on the results page yet. (FRpapasmurf)
It counts physical CPU's.
You won't show up on the stats page, until your first workunit is completed.... *patience*.....
Once a workunit is completed, your stats will show a cpu, for every unique machine that is doing the work. If you have one with two cpu's, and both successfully upload a completed workunit, you'll show 2 cpu's.
KD asnwered your questions above.
Just wanted to make sure that you added 36120 for your team number.
Stats update every hour (actually stats page updates approx. 25 minutes after each hour).
Actually the DUmmies are adding computers quickly. They're up to 18 CPUs.
Don't look now, but we're on track to bust 200,000 tonight.... we're #97 on total points contributed today, and still climbing...
oops... I meant to say tommorrow.... we should reach 190,000+ tonight.
i just got a 241 point unit done woohoo
We are now up to 145 CPUs, and we have combined to earn 9,600 points in the last 24 hours.
Eventually the curve steepens, but for now we have clear sailing into the Top 350. That will be the day when we cross 1,000,000 points.
Not bad for a days work, err ... surfing the net.
I've only managed to get 3 up so far. One of them keeps crashing. Sorry.
I'm folding a 1000 and 2 500's. My lappy (the faster one) is at 197 of 1000 as I type this on it. My vid card is the slowdown, for sure, and the gpu is overheating-running between 59 and 65 c-if I leave the graphic up, so I minimize it. It repoted that it was taking 1min 19sec per unit. How does that compare to others?
:O)
