The Lord's word

IN ITS opening pages, “Biology for Christian Schools” (Bob Jones University Press) comes straight to the point:

“The people who have prepared this book have tried consistently to put the Word of God first and science second. To the best of the author's knowledge, the conclusions drawn from observable facts that are presented in this book agree with the Scriptures. If a mistake has been made (which is probable since this book was prepared by humans) and at any point God's Word is not put first, the author apologises.” And that is precisely why a high-school science course using the 693-page book as a primary text does not meet the admission standards of the University of California (UC). It does not, argues the university, reflect “knowledge generally accepted in the scientific and educational communities and with which a student at the university level should be conversant.” The same, says the university, is true of some other courses—in history, literature and government—offered by Calvary Chapel Christian Schools of Murrieta, a small town south-east of Los Angeles. These courses also rely on books from the Bob Jones University Press and from another Christian publisher, A Beka Books.

If the universe was created, where did the creater reside before the creation?

That's like asking with wonderment, where did a house builder live, before he built a house. Of course, the creator is not part of the creation.

It's too bad this had to become strictly a crevo thread. The mention of A Beka worries me as a homeschooler, since we use some of their books. Is there an intentional effort here to confuse homeschoolers with creationists, as a way to undermine home-schooling?

The entire basis of both evolutionary theory and the “Big Bang” theory rests on the presupposition life is an Imacculate Conception...

Think about that one for a minute...

The “origin of species” is rooted in the idea of a singularity: the mechanics of the DNA molecule. All species of Terran life has it. Like the singularity of the “Big Bang” theory, the two are categorically inseparable as immaculate conceptions. It only takes a mere application of logic.

The perplexing question of human origin from a common ancestor to apes is even more problematic. According to evolutionary theory, humans (Homo sapiens) did not descend from apes, but from some “missing link.”

Although Dr. Louis Leaky spent decades searching and found Zinjanthropus and Homo habilis, Olduvai Gorge gave no answers. Logic also suggests in order to “descend,” there has to be something you descend “from” and something you ascend “to.”

Evolutionary theory rooted in the universal human dissatisfaction for mortality is a vain search for human origin(s), an attempt to rationalize a yearning for connection to something eternal.

Now, since nobody really knows the answers, it is only scientific method to consider all points of view on the issue in education. To do otherwise would be like students dancing around totems, with professors as witch doctors proclaiming intellectual taboos and making sacrifices.

This is far worse than what the ersatz secularists accuse the creationists of doing!

The Nuclear Option

If you want to be added to this list, please notify me...

Originally, the Nuclear Option Ping List started out as a practical joke. With all the vitriolic response I received from certain un-named individuals, I figured it would be a great idea to do it for real...

I have observed here on Free Republic, a never ending flaming of religious folks and conservatives by people who promote things such as drug abuse, homosexuality, the ritual murder of abortion and other garbage.

Not being an orthodox or ecumenical atheist, it has really stretched my patience. I do not think policemen are jack-booted thugs, nor do I look at people who want to protect their families from filthy scum as brownshirts.

The purpose of this is to alert people to the cultural Marxism run amok... Drugs, sex perverts, pornography (in film and in music), marijuana, liquor, bashing the religious people, destroying social institutions (like marriage and the Boy Scouts), etc., etc.,... ad nausea...

The druggies like the sex perverts can only perpetuate an ever increasing market for their filth by molesting the minds and bodies of the young ones... this is the only way they get new Demo-rat voters... CHEMICAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL WARFARE!

It is no coincidence Islamic pagans hate Israel, Jews, Christians and Western Civilization. The entire basis of Western Civilization is Mosaic Law, something both the Neo-Pagan Left and the pagan Islamic thugs cannot abide and wish to destroy.

The very idea that human beings have individual rights not subject to the whims of a monarch, but subject to the laws of Yahweh, is directly from Moses.

Historically, this is proven over and over again with the succsessive conflicts between the forces of paganism and the Judaic culture. It is being played out here and all over the world today...

Observing this as an atheist, I prefer the paradigm of a Judaic culture to the chaotic death cult of New Age neo-pagan absurdity.

That's right, I beleive what the Bible says, scientists have not been able to prove that ID is not true and correct.

If the big bang were true it still doesn't explain how oceans were formed, or the fish, fauna and floral, trees, the fact that the earth rotates perfectly, I could go on and on about the miracles of life and would love to hear the scientific explanation for each thing mentioned plus the stars the universe etc etc , and if it were here for eternity how did it all get here in the first place. There is no logical explanation other than ID. And to me ID is God!

What I say will never be good enough, so lets see what Gods word has to say about it. After all, isnt that what this thread is entitled.

Titus 1:2 the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

1 Peter 1:8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy,

Ezekiel 12:2 "Son of man, you are living among a rebellious people. They have eyes to see but do not see and ears to hear but do not hear, for they are a rebellious people.

Well, at least this Christmas wont go by without someone letting you know Jesus loves you and has a plan for your life.

Take care.

Do you have any hard, scientific evidence of "eternal life?"

Do you have any hard, scientific evidence of the irrefutabiliy of darwinian evolution? If so, can you explain the evolution of a relatively simple cellular but absolutely essential biochemical machine: The Krebs Cycle?

How about this explanation ~ that all things are possible ~ and as a result all things have happened.

I think anyone can just look at what our world is and know there is a supreme being.
The balance needed to sustain life in the vast wasteland of space is impossible to maintain and or come up with unless there was a God.

Takes far more faith to not believe IMO.

Anyone declaring to be a believer of evolution asserts that the universe had a beginning

This is not true. There was a lot of debate in cosmology circles about whether the Steady State or the Big Bang theories were correct. (BB eventually won, because of evidence). This had absolutely no impact on biology.

The fact that the Earth is 4.5 billion years old, and that life can be traced back 3 or so billion years, is independent of the history of the rest of the universe.
